Chewie got his RN!
FYI - rally has 3 levels - novice, advanced and excellent. Novice is on leash, advanced and excellent are off. A perfect score is 100. A qualifying score is 70 or higher. You need to get 3 qualifying scores under 3 different judges to title - at each level. So RN is accomplished, RA and RE are our next goals. |

| RN is an AKC obedience title, short for Rally Novice. Rally is an obedience sport that requires the dog's focus on its handler through various heeling exercises. The first title level - Novice - demonstrates the dog's ability to heel on leash through 16 various exercises. The next level,RA - advanced - is off leash and adds additional exercises. The highest level, RA - Excellent - again off leash for a total of 50 exercises. A title in each level requires a minimum of 70 out of 100 points scored at 3 different trials under 2 different judges. |
| Also RN stands for "Registered Nurse" which is what makes it ironic because the poster is an RN. |

| Chewie's Rally Novice picture came in the mail today!
The photographer is also a dog person and she competes with her CKCS's in obedience too. She likes working with the dogs to get a good picture - I am always happy to see her at a show.
Now I need to get a frame and put it up with the pretty show pictures. Maybe I should put it next to his weight pull and herding certificates. I need to arrange my wall art a bit!
My mailman is a dog lover. He always brings my dog pictures up to the door. I open them up and show him the latest one - he loves it! |
