The simple things....

Doug got a brand new car almost 10 days ago. My life and schedule have been so crazy that this morning was THE FIRST time I have even sat in it (I know I'm terrible!!!!). We usually ride to work together but because I've been working and doing clinical I've had to drive myself.

This morning I got to ride with Doug and as I settled in I realized that it was the first time I'd even been IN his new car. It was below 30 on my hill this morning, COLD ANC CRUNCHY. I was sitting in the passenger seat shivering and complaining when Doug said HANG ON...... he flipped a switch and withing 60 second my back and butt were warm and toasty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE CAR HAS HEATED SEATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited:

HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love them, it's like having a heating pad at your back while you drive. I may NEVER drive MY car again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, just had to chuckle at that one.....
I could use those right now, bad when you go to sit in your car and it is that frozen it feels like bricks.

You'd never survive upstate ny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My first car, though a big piece of crap by the time I got it, had heated seats. It was the only thing I liked about the car. I loved being able to get all toasty before the heater really kicked in. Luckily I don't have to deal with cold weather like that anymore. 8)

Wow Air conditioned seats, now that is a GREAT IDEA!!! 8)
My new HHR has heated seats. I use them almost every time I drive. It is like having a heating pad in the car. Great for myofascial pain!!!!!
Once you have heated seats, too, you'll never be able to live without them again! What kind of car is it, Ginny? My friend had a Lincoln Town Car that THE hottest seat heaters ever, it was awesome. All mine are the kind that gradually warm up and, if you don't know you have them on, you start wondering if you've wet your pants because it's all strangely warm for no reason, lol.
Heated seats are the best. My car doesn't have them but my husband's does. I have them turned on even before I shut the door :D

And any weather below 70 is fair game! I wait ALL SUMMER to get to be able to use the seat heaters again
Do you guys know that there is a car company that makes cooled seats? I believe its Mercedes or something like that, ok, I just looked it up, and there's several now. Including Lincoln, Cadillac, Infiniti, Bentley, Buick, Ford, Toyota....they aren't in all the models of vehicles, just certain ones, but they are getting more common. Its not true air-conditioning, its air circulating in the seat, but it does cool it down. The first time I ever saw that I was like COOL!!!!!  I bet someone i the forum will chime in and say they have cooled seats, we'll just have to wait and see....
It's a Hyunda Elantra. We keep one small car (his) for good mileage and one SUV (mine) for hauling stuff. Next year is MY TURN to get a new car. Actually we were debating this year over who got the new car, I've been looking for ages. But I stalled too long and he came home with a new one  . Which is actually fine with me because I keep changing my mind about WHAT I want.
When I worked for Volvo, my demo had heated seat.

My tush hasn't been happy with any car since then

It is a balmy 40 now, but the wind chill is about 30. We are in a wind advisory, and there are random snow pellets falling too.

I still have just the corn stove (not the central heat) going in the house. It is cooler in here where the computer is and our bedroom. I put a fan in the doorway to blow some of the warm air into here. Chewie is soooo happy - he thinks the nice cool fan is just for him!

And Darcy - it is 56 in my bedroom, but a toasty 61 here at the computer. :D :D
you cold weather people really are twisted, ya know

It is a "girl thing" ---heated seats??? I LOVE MINE!!!!!!!

I always have mine on in my Grand Prix, but when my husband drives it, he gets very upset when his "tusch" begins to get warm..........   ..
There is a car with AC in the seats......either Scandinavian (Volvo or Saab) or German. [watch it is probably Japanese........] How nice that would be in AZ the 8 months it is unbearable.

I have heated seats, the only reason I'll leave the house in early winter a.m.'s.
Ooooooh heated seats...*sigh* 8)

OMG you people who use them at anything under 70 8O 8O 8O at 70 I'm dying from the heat! Its in the 20's here today....my dogs are in heaven, they don't want to come inside!
Naw, gotta be subfreezing to get me to turn the seat on. My buns are well toasted within a mile. Good thing there's a stop sign so I can reach down and turn off the seat. Once I missed turning it off at the sign and was 20 miles on the freeway, lifting a cheek to keep from getting overheated. You more agile folks probably could have reached down easily while driving and flip the switch.
I have only turned on the seat warmers once so far this year, I think the week in Miami thinned my blood  Jill is right, it does feel like you peed your pants if you're not used to the warm sensation!
Finn and I always look funny driving when it's cold. I am the only car with the windows down and the sheepdog hanging out feeling the wind in his hair.
Darcy, it's in the 30's here right now and a snow/rain mix coming down. Killington is already snow covered :D
we had a top of the range ford mondeo inthe uk (like the ford 500 but we had the estate or station wagon) well i loved it !!!!

it had heated and ventilated leather seats sooooooooooo nice

warm in winter cool in summer

just normal heating in them but they had fans in them for the summer to cool you it ws nice coz you don't wantto stick to the seat

zoe and einy
:D :D :D Ahhh! Heated seats! I turn mine on , summer or winter, in snow, rain sleet or sunshine! 8) I have been known to turn my heated seat on and at the same time, run the AC! Bliss! :cheer: Great for sore backs! For those without installed heaters in the car seats, you can buy a very adequate seat liner that is heated and has a massage function as well. It works off the cigarette lighter. I have one of those too, just in case! 8)

REALLY!?! I will have to try that
I have heated seats in my truck. Several weeks ago one of my employees used it to run some errands for me. When he got back he said the truck had a major problem and needed service ASAP. When I asked him what he meant he said his butt was burning the whole time so something must be wrong somewhere :) Somehow he turned the seat on high and didn't realize it :D

Oh, let's not get carried away. It's only unbearable here 5 months a year. Right now the weather is fabulous
Sue you are right, this is paradise time there. I've never forgiven my mother for moving from AZ to Colorado. I hint at least once a week I'd like to SnowBird.......I'm not getting anywhere.
