OES at paws in Chicago

My roommate works at the new PAWS shelter in Chicago and she sent me a picture text of an OES that just came in today. PAWS is a no kill shelter and he is in great hands, but I just wanted to let everyone know in case someone in the area was thinking of adding a new family member.

I'll post more details when she calls me back

I wish we could have more dogs but our building only allows two dogs. :( I hope he finds a home soon!
His name is Rocky, he's 9 years old purebred in medium length coat and gorgeous! He's very happy and a total wiggluebum and he gets along with other dogs very well.

I hope someone can go get him soon so he doesn't have to stay in the shelter too long
Hi, Heather. I'm just curious to know why PAWS doesn't call Chicagoland OES Rescue to find her a home. I know PAWS is no kill, but maybe they can find her a qualified home more easily. Then they'd free up a spot for another. Just wondering if you know how these decisions are made.
Honestly I think it's because they don't need help. They did 29 adoptions at their new facility on Sunday! They have a really qualified staff doing adoption counseling as well. Also I know that they go into other shelters and take out animals from them, so they are moving animals faster than they are getting owner-giveups.

I'm going to try and go visit him this week, I will ask them what they think about breed rescue though just in case they had not thought of it.
Not saying anything about the Paws shelter glad they are doing such a good job finding animals good homes. What do they know about the OES breed. Different than most other dogs.
I'm not sure if they have any breed specialists, but they do have a behaviorist/trainer evaluate the dogs so that they can get the individual personalities of each dog down, which sounds good to me! He is also in medium coat and full grown, so the grooming and size issues will be apparent.
