I'm Back from the Honeymoon!

We're back! We just got in about an hour ago so I had a snack, loved the dogs for a few minutes and, of course, came here immediately!

We had a really good time despite going though a portion of Tropical Storm Noel. The seas were really rough a couple of days (imagine 12 to 14 foot waves) but, luckily, the ports were all perfect and beautiful. It seemed to rain every night while we were asleep and by morning, it was dry, sunny and warm.

I took lots of pictures and have lots of stories but way too much for an "I'm back" thread. Here's some pics to get you started and I'll pick out some other good ones for some other threads. The underwater ones will be cool but I have to kill off the rest of the exposures on the camera.

First stop: the Bahamas. The water was unbelievable. It was the bluest, clearest water I've ever seen in the Caribbean. It didn't even seem real.

Image

Next we were off to St Thomas, US Virgin Islands. This shot I took just as the sun was rising.

Image

We did a really cool shore excursion where we went on these underwater scooters and tooled around about 10 feet under. I'll have underwater pics of this later but this is what the scooter looks like.

Image

San Juan, Puerto Rico was next. It was really hot that day so we just walked around a bit and checked out the city. The colors were fun.

Image

We also visited the San Cristobal fort, which was very old and creepy looking with dark tunnels and turrets. The inclines going up and down were insane. I don't know how they got cannons up there without killing themselves!

Image

Grand Turk Island was the last stop. It was small and very pretty. The beach was full of all kinds of interesting shells and coral that washed up, plus, the waves were huge and lots of fun to swim in.

Image

The ship was fun, too. Check out who won the ship's blackjack tournament... :)

Image

I'm adding this pic in because I'm pretty sure it's the same guy from Maxxm's Cancun picture a few years ago. Mandy, was your guy's wife wearing just a g-string, too? 8O

Hey Jill,

Welcome back! :D

Wow, it looks you had a wonderful time on your honeymoon! Pictures are great and I can't wait to see some underwater shots.

Grand Turk Island looks so little! It is so hard to believe that people actually live on these little islands!
Welcome back. The pics are great and I can't wait to hear of your wonderful adventures.

Marianne
Welcome home! Looks like you had an amazing trip.
Can't wait to hear all about it!
All the photos are great....except the last one.... Ewww :twitch:
Very cool trip and very nice pics.

Are those dollars :D ? Did you get to keep them?
Welcome back! Looks like you had a great time and congrats on the win. That last shot, you see a lot of those down here in Florida...I have learned to turn a blind eye to them.

While we where dealing with the Tropical effects of Noel I was thinking about you and James. I know the Cruise ships usually can keep you away from the danger, but my the size of those waves. We had 8 to 10 foot waves hitting our shores so I can only imagine what you experienced. I am glad you are came home safe. Did you know the other night Noel was upgraded to a Hurricane?
WOW, Jill!!!!

What beautiful Pictures of the ocean........and those San Juan buildings..I would love to hear more about those underwater scooters...they sound really fun. Glad you had a great time and WON!!!!
Hey. welcome back! Great pictures, and you really smoked the losers in the blackjack tournament :D
Welcome back Jill and James! Your pictures are just beautiful! So glad the weather (for the most part) cooperated with you. Those underwater scooters sound like such fun - can't wait to see those pictures!!

Welcome Back!!

That guy looks a little younger than the one I saw. It's probably his brother and yes, they have the same taste in women because my guy's chick was in a big thong. (That seems more uncomfortable than regular underwear riding up! :? )

Are these all the pics we get?
WELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!! What wonderful pictures, ummm well MOST were wonderful 8O (I coulda done without the speedo one).
Welcome back. :D It looks like you had some beautiful weather and locations to visit.
Mandy was forced to be Miss Sarcasm while you were gone...... :sidestep:

I don't know, his wife wasn't much better!

I have more pics but I'm just going to upload all of them to dropshots some time today and post the link. I always like a few pics of people's vacations but too many gets to be overkill for many people so I'll let those who would like to see more do so by following the link. I don't want to bore everyone with tons of scenery pics.

Oh wait, though. I forgot one pic that I did upload already. This was us on formal night and AFTER the humidity got to my hair. :( Even so, I thought it was a nice one of us.

ooooooooooh, nice outfits!!! the scenery pics make me so jealous.
Welcome home! :D Wow I'm jealous...you guys have the best trips!

Looks like you guys had a great trip! :D The pictures are beautiful...well, all except that last one..lol. That reminds me of our trip to the Bahamas in May, and this Italian guy in a tiny, tiny suit! :o (Gross!) How do they walk around like that??
Welcome back!

What great pictures looks like it was an amazing trip! I was wondering how you guys were faring with the reports of hurricanes.

Did you have a complete doggie withdrawal or what?

Can't wait to hear more about your trip and see more pics.
Welcome back! Looks & sounds like you had a terrific time! Love the picture of you two on formal night! You look HOT. Nice dress! :D

I want to hear more about the underwater excursion. What was your favorite port?

You know how bad it was? I started have only dog dreams by the last 2 days of the cruise. In one, Clyde was a puppy again and I was trying to smuggle him onto an airplane. Bear was a puppy too but he was the same size he is now. ;) James and I both couldn't wait to get home to see them. I should also point out, if it weren't for the dogs, I may not have ever wanted to come back!

You know, I really liked them all but I was blown away by the water in Bahamas. It was so picture perfect, I still can't get over it. I spent the most money on Puerto Rico though. ;)

only if she and james drank so much that they dont remember what they did in those dark dank cellars they call cabins 8)
I agree with you, Jill, the water around the Bahamas is too beautiful to be real. But, I love Puerto Rico.

I'll be the dogs were glad to see you! :D

You people and your goofy babies! Geez! The only baby watch you can add me to is for a baby dog and even that will not be for 2008!

They were very tired so their excitement was pretty subdued. Clyde always gives me the cold shoulder for the first hour regardless after we go away. He holds a grudge! He lightened up after he saw how many hugs Bear was getting.
so jelous looks like a great time
GLad to hear that the weather almost cooperated for the trip. Beautiful pictures.
I was wondering where you went?! Your pictures are AWSOME! Can't wait to here all about it!

So glad your back, I have missed you!
Welcome back! May your life together be as beautiful as the pics you shared with us, and may your days together be filled with the true happiness as you shared on this trip!!!
Beautiful pics!
