My sister is bad Mom!!!

My sister has an ugly Poodle/Terrier+ mix. Okay he's not ugly, but I cannot look at his underbite. It reminds me of my Boxer... but I loved her because I was her Mom.

She told me her dog, Bailey gives her a hard time when she tries to brush him out. I found this strange as I have brushed him out before and he never fuses when I do it. Well a little, but I ignore him.

She asked if I could groom him. Last night she gets here, I put him on the grooming table and start to try to dematt him. It was impossible, he wasn't matted all over, but the matted areas he did have were to the skin.
His tail was even matted. I tried first going over him with the slicker and even the slicker was getting caught up.
His nails were sooooo long. One even bled when I cut it and I wasn't near the quick.

I tried shaving first with a #5 but that kept getting caught. I told my sister due to her negligence she was now going to have a naked dog.
She said that's okay.

So I shaved him down... I was able to leave a Poodle puff on the top of his head as that was the only area of his body that had no matts. I even had to shave his tail really close as he was. It looked like a rat tail when I was done and he kept curling it around my arm while I was shaving his body. It was soooo gross!!!

Even Peanut who used to bite the heck out my hands was never matted like that. I always brushed him and eventually got a muzzle for grooming. I was always able to use a #5 on him. The only matting Peanut got was on his tummy by his privates.

I am very disappointed with my sister. She has instructions to buy a comb and start brushing. Gosh, even just using a slicker on him and he wouldn't have been matted like that. I have no idea what has gotten into her lately. She used to send him to be groomed and they were always able to just trim him.

Ryan said he looked like a taller version of Peanut when I was done...
The last thing she wanted him to look like is a Poodle but he is part Poodle!! She got exactly what she didn't want... which is part of her punishment. What got me is she was totally okay with the whole thing!
I guess I'm just annoyed that she let him get that way. I will be making sure she doesn't let that happen again.

Good for you Elissa! You did a great job on that poor puppy nephew. About the nails. Unfortunately, when their nails grow the quick grows too, so the longer they leave the nail the longer the quick is going to be too. This is the reason I cut the boys nails very short because I don't want their quick to grow.

 Sorry for laughing but this is funny!

Did you also bathe him? If it was my sister, I would charge her for grooming her dog!
Thnaks Kata, I am requesting she send me a picture so I can post his after shots.

His nails were almost twice as long as they should have been and he fought me on the nail cutting, just like my Sheepies do. Which made it twice as hard to do.

The tail really was gross. My sister was sitting there laughing so hard about him wrapping his tail around my arm. I thought she was going to pee her pants. Until I told her if she didn't hold it I was going to dock it.

I did not bathe him, he was actually pretty clean other than being matted and his nasty runny eyes.
I couldn't charge her.... she took my son for the weekend to homecoming at ASU. I groomed Bailey in exchange.
Though next time I just may charge her!
 Him wrapping his tail around your arms still makes me laugh! Sorry! Did your sister take a picture of that too? I would love to see those pictures too!

Okay, you need to play smart here....if she takes your son for the weekend to homecoming at ASU...you can give her a 50% discount! ;)
I don't think she took pics of the tail wrapping. She was too busy laughing at me. Yuck, just thinking about it again grosses me out. lol
She did take pics after the haircut... but I am still waiting for her to send them.
Don't forget to post them! I still hope she took some pictures of his tail!
I emailed her last night to remind her to send the photos, she hasn't yet.
She is in the middle of trying to open her own business so she's very busy. I'll send her another e-mail though and remind her again.
The pics are in and it's really scary how much he looks like Peanut. (My evil toy poodle that I had to rehome... I loved Peanut, but he was insane!)

Here is my sister's dog Bailey: Showing off his underbite and the rat tail....ewww!

Crazy how much they look alike! Except Peanut had a docked tail and was a purebreed Toy Poodle (Not a well breed one for sure), Bailey is twice as tall as Peanut, wrong nose color too.... but definitely the same groomer.
haha...they do look alike....bailey looks like he wants to say something mean in the second photo!!
:D

Those are hilarious. Bailey is not the cutest - poor guy. You weren't kidding about the rat tail......
Here is Bailey last year when I gave him a haircut.

She likes to keep him looking like a Bichon, which he is not.
When he showed up the other day his hair about 3 to 4 inches on his body.

My sister said he's embarassed now. I told her she needs to buy a muzzle so she can brush him and then he wouldn't end up looking like Psycho Peanut.
:excited:     :excited:

OMG, I nearly fell of my chair!!! He looks hilarious!!!! Oh, I'm sorry but I understand your sister now for LHAO!!!:lol:

That is amazing how much they look alike! Even their mouths!

Oh, this is so funny! Thank you for sharing the story and the pictures!
