My dog is eating hair mats!
If I don't IMMEDIATELY get the brushed hair away from Maudie, she will get to them& eat them! Anyone else ever experience this? |

| Yes, Winston did the same thing when he was younger, and when he got shaved down he would try to get the clippings too. He stopped doing that in recent years - I'd say since he was about 7 or so (he's almost 11).
No idea why they would want to do that. |
Chewie is not the culprit. maggie the coonhound is. She loves helping me groom him! The hair I brush out of Chewie needs to be put in the kitchen garbage with a lid (the dirty stuff, I am saving the rest). Otherwise, Maggie snags it off the grooming table or pulls it out of the garbage can next to me.  |

This is a normal behavior. Just think about it, when wolves kill an animal, they eat it's fur/hair too. Boni and Lumpi would it it too if I let them.  |
