day 3, feel awful

i can't remember it being this hard. trust me pick the week the kids are off school and in an arguementative mood, i'm also decorating(which is keeping me busy) but kids keep interupting and pup keeps doing his business in the house. Just seem to be on a short fuse. slightest thing and i could explode, taking alot of effort not too. oh well, i will stop moaning and get on with completing day 3.

As if that's even possible. Quitting smoking means giving up an obsession. But seriously, the best thing you can do to stay quit is to not think about it. And if you MUST think about it, don't think about it in glorified terms.

I'm on day 52 of my 3rd long-term quit. I haven't even thought about a cigarette until just now. And no, these aren't pretty thoughts going through my head.

It gets better. Don't pick one up!!
I just celebrated my 7th month as a smoker who doesn't smoke. I don't remember how many times I've quit before. I smoked for 30 years (that is scary). Anyway, by the time day 3 is over, you are pretty much done with the physical withdrawal. That's the easy part. The hard part is the mental withdrawal. I still struggle with it every day and every day I realize that I could easily become a full-time smoker. again I have learned though that I can get through just about any situation without smoking. I don't know that I physically feel any better for not smoking (except my sinuses no longer feel like an ice pick is being stuck in them) but mentally I am so glad I no longer have this "monkey on my back."

And if you slip up, you slip up. Get right back to not smoking and never quit quitting!

Suzi, if you can't hold on any more, go to the store and get some nicotine gum or lozenges to ease you down a little bit. They will help your mood. Don't chew too much! You've already gotten through most of the physical stuff, so just a little bit, OK?
