Out of the mouth of babes..sigh

Humm...

I kept Skyler and Alayna, my little nieces on Sunday. Not an easy task-- a two year old , a 6 month old, and a broken wrist.

Skyler was so tired, her little eyes were as heavy as rocks, and Alayna was starting to fuss for a bottle.

My sister Traci was visiting too- and - I said to Skyler, "How about we have Aunt Traci rock you, while Buckie fixes Laynie's bottle" Her reply --- "No- I only want you to rock me Buckie- your belly is bigger and softer" 8O

Is that a compliment? :?

lol, that is so cute. At least she meant it as a compliment even if the rest of us wouldn't take it that way.

Yes- it was the utmost in compliments. We have laughed and laughed about it.

Nothing like a compliment like that it scoot you away from the table and get ya on the treadmill. Gotta run :)
LOL - sometimes kids are too honest, huh? :P

That just means there is more of you for them to love! :hearts: No, I'm just kidding. I'm sure it's not as bad as it sounds. Maybe your sister is bony?
lol...that couldnt have been a nicer compliment....but only from a child....... :D
I said that to my aunt when I was a child...

Now kids say it to me! I try to handle it with the same grace she did, I let out a hearty laugh and hug them closer!

I miss her. :(
My grandpa had a giant beer belly when I was little, and I remember asking him in front of all the family if he was having a boy or a girl. (I was serious at the time.. I was only about 5)

Some Aunts are just special- huh Ron!

And that is just what I did- let out a laugh and hugged the stuffin' out of her!
Ahhh....kids!! Those moments are so special. You'll never forget that one for sure!
Aunties are SUPPOSED to be soft and plushy!

We're just do'in our jobs !
 I used to tell my Mom I liked cuddling with Dad better, because his tummy was nice and soft like a pillow.
Ryan tells people they are old. 8O If an eldery person starts talking to him, he'll say, You're an old man, or old lady...depending on who he is talking too.

The worst is he calls my Mom, Granny!! It pisses her off like you wouldn't believe. I think it's funny though.
I guess it's a compliment to be soft? I think I remember telling my mom that at one point, that she was nice and soft to lay against...

My mom works at a school and she was walking by the playground and this little kid, maybe 5, comes up to her and asks her where her cane is. She's like, What cane? And he says, your face is so wrinkly so you are old and need a cane! Poor mom!!

I know! She took it really well, but she's always self conscious because she was practically Gidget growing up and loves the sun and all her friends have had 'work' done on their faces and she hasn't, so she always feels like she's more wrinkly than her friends are...
That reminds me of the time Ian asked my
girlfriend how she grew that mustache! I wanted
to crawl under the table- and she wasn't too gracious
about it either. We laugh about it now.
