A good dog story
The yellow is insane, she is possibly the shining example of what 'over breeding' can do, she has lots of health problems and allergies and she is positively nutty on the brain. This dog is very blessed, in any other home she would be neglected at best and possibly put down at worst, she chews up $16,000 oriental rugs, can escape from just about any crate, doesn't listen, breaks out in hives every two weeks or so, pees on the cherry wood floor- you get the picture. The Chocolate is a stoic gentleman with very good manners, but he is huge, silent, and intimidating. He is extremely protective of his property and family, and I must admit, he commands respect. So this guy I work for lives in a very ritzy neighborhood and the neighbors have decided they don't like the dogs. It's nothing short of harrasment, if the nutty one escapes and tears around the yards with family running after her, the neighbors call the police, the chocolate never leaves the property but he will growl at anyone who comes onto the property, so again the neighbors, who think they have a right to cut through the yard, call the police if the big one growls. Back and forth it goes, and the guy I work for has had enough. He wants to pack up his family and move away from all of th criticism and snobbyiness. So I asked him today if they were seriously thinking about getting out of the neighborhood and he said they were looking at some new homes elsewhere, the best part though is that he and his wife are planning to donate their 3.2 mil house in their posh snooty neighborhood to either a homeless shelter for use as temp housing or to a women's shelter for use as temp housing. I love it! He is willing to take the hit financially, plus he feels its a good thing to do for the community at large, and it will completely put those neighbors in their place. People who love their dogs are so cool..... Up. |

People who love their dogs are so cool..... Up. Great Story! I hope it works out! We had a situation in our State where property was donated for that reason and the neighbors put up such a stink they wouldn't allow them the zoning requirements!  |
| I would be wonderful if it happens, but you know darn well the neighbors will go to court and stop any such humanitarian move. Alas, the courts will be on their side, city/county zoning will be on their side, etc. I've seen too many like cases, the higher class the neighborhood the more likely the neighbors will win.
Perhaps he could "remodel" his home, tearing out sections, having workmen come in for months..or years.. with their saws, hammers, generators, loud music. Then the landscapers with the multi ton rocks requiring cranes to lift over the house, jackhammers to tear out concrete, backend loaders.......oh we could have fun!! |
