Eating tissues/toiletpaper .....

Just wonder if anyone got some tips for me:

... Charlie just started some days ago to actually EAT toiletpaper and tissues etc., she does swallow them which gives me concerns about if it would have a bad side effect to her health! She goes to bins and even in the toilet and rip it out before I even can reach her, and then she eats it! :?

Does it mean anything why she is doing it and what is the best way to stop her???

thanks very much for all your comments!!

I dont know, but Nigel is always raiding the bathroom trash. He eats toilet paper, wipes, cotton balls etc.

I know it goes through him...I have seen it. I do think the best thing to do is close all doors and keep it away from them. It can cause a blockage. You just have to be vigilant.
yup, we have that problem, I close doors my daughter goes through tissue like crazy and the dogs raid her room. I can not wait until her room in basement, the dogs are not allowed down there.

Keep the bathroom door closed!

Actually, come to think of it, Maggie really hasn't done this in ages. . .

Thank you!
The best advise is keep all the doors closed. Eventually they will out grow the "toilet paper" faze, both of mine did.
Dogs and toilet paper? I have absolutely no idea what you are refering to.

HA HA HA HA Love those pics!
George went through a phase of running down the stairs with the end of toilet paper in his mouth (think he thought the was the andrex puppy)

I had no idea there was so much paper on one roll!
Andrex puppy...we always forget you have different names for almost everything here. We have a Cottonelle puppy.
Do you mean puppies eat toliet paper? No way! London has no idea what you are talking about.

Same puppy different name
love those pics, they are great.
absolutely love the pics.
Glad to hear that they grow out of it. The door to the bathroom is generally closed but he who usually forgets to put the lid down is the same one who forgets to close the door, and well you know the rest.
Oh, those pictures are so cute! And the look on their face!!! Boni never ate toilet paper...

They may be just enjoying eating it because

1) it tastes good (for them of course)
2) it gets your attention
3) and then you play with them = chasing, telling them off, etc.

But I do agree with the rest to close those doors.
Those are some really great pictures. They have that look on their faces like, what are you talking about it wasn't me.
Thank you soo much for all your reply's, I specialy love the all the pictures!! They are really funny!!!!   That just show's that Charlie is not the only one who eats and plays with toiletpaper!!!

PS: We did closed the bathroom doors and Max has to clean his room more often   so Charlie cant get his tissues!!! :D  :D
Rosie and Carmella would always go for kleenex boxes. And sit there and pull them out one by one............

The other night Checkers and Calypso found the toilet paper.............. oh my do they ever like toilet paper!!!

The are from Beamer, who was out of "Sticker" and all of his offspring were known for being toilet paper puppies!!
They may NOT outgrow it. We lost Mopsy at 10 1/2 and she never outgrew it. It took us six months after she was gone to realize we did not have to close the bathroom door anymore or put the trash cans and toilet paper up!
Syd was almost 14 and still had a thing for toilet paper and Kleenex. Bella has shown the same tendencies. Maybe it is a sheepie thing. None of the other dogs I've had ever tried it. The cats thought the roll was a fun toy but not the dogs. Sheepies are strange and wonderful.
one of my moms dogs not oes always goes for the tissue when she is not home. Have to close the door. Once she for got jumped out of the car to run back in to close the door...... to late. I think the dog thinks if you are going to leave me at home, i'll get even.
It's so funny I saw this post...I was going to post about Heart..This morning I couldn't find her and went outside. She had taken a whole role of toilet paper outside and my back yard is like a winter wonderland......LOL.arwwwwwwwwwww!!!! Puppies!!!!
