So my little Twiggles is not a fan of being groomed even though we've been doing it since she was 9 weeks old and we do it every other day at home. It's usually a two person job with my husband holding her and me brushing and cleaning her ears, trimming her nails etc, all the while dodging her snapping at me (not hard).

You can imagine that because of this, I don't get to do as good of a job as I'd like.

Well yesterday, I tried something new. My husband was at work and I was laying in bed watching Dancing with the Stars. I decided to hide Twiggy's brush and comb under a pillow and invite her up on the bed with me. She's not allowed there all the time, just a special treat so she was very excited.

Once she got comfy, I started to groom her and... SHE WAS PERFECT! She just let me do it and looked like she enjoyed it. I even got to do her paws and legs which she usually hates the most.

I brushed her and brushed her for almost two hours and she was an angel!

I don't know if I just caught her in a good mood or if we've had a breakthrough!
Sounds Wooooonderful!!!!
That is what I do with Sami, Evenings are best because she wants to cuddle either on the bed or couch, but I can get the brush and comb her real good. Lucky 9 and on I am a tv watcher.
I have an old quilt that they lay on for grooming. It's soft, comfortable and helps with the clean up.
Congrats!
Either way - congratulations! It's so rewarding when they finally allow you to brush them! Very Happy
Congrats! Very Happy
Another win for the uprights!! Sheepies are smart but not as smart as we are!!
I'm going to try this too and see if it works!
Good for you - sounds like it was quite a treat for her!
