Introducing Sir Gustavious Crumpet III

Also known as, Gus Gus! Granted, there is no I or II, but the III sounds so regal :)

Gus was born on June 22nd, 2007 in Menomonee Falls. We picked him up on August 17th, and our lives will never be the same. Gus belongs to me, Carol, and my husband, Mark. We also currently have a friend living with us, Kirk. We call him Uncle Kirk, and Gus LOVES him!

Gus is very outgoing and confident. He isn't afraid of anything or anyone! We got an invisible fence so that he could be free in our yard (our subdivision has a fence restriction) so Gus loves to spend time digging holes in our yard and playing in the mud. I've never seen a dog who is capable of getting so dirty, so fast! He hates baths, but he's getting better! Gus spends quite a bit of time lounging in the front yard or on the front porch watching the world go by :)

Gus likes to play fetch and tug o war, and he really likes going to the park to run around and back and forth between mom and dad. His all time favorite thing to do though, is play with his many puppy friends which include Nilla (Golden), Finn (Peekapoo), Maddie (Black lab), Stanley (Lab/Corgi mix) and Maggie (Westie).

Gus can be quite stubborn, and we're already realizing how smart he really is! What a wild ride this will be! If anyone can give me hints how to teach Gus to enjoy being brushed, I'd appreciate the advice! My current method is to wait until he's really tired and try to sneak in some brushing then!

Welcome from Alaska! :D
Welcome from San Francisco!

Ah, the joys of puppy ownership. We had a baby GUS some time back. And his name...Gus Gus da toid (rhymes with t--d) chiefly because of his puppy chow by-products...LOL
He's long since crossed the rainbow bridge.
Love his name GUS  So cute. :D

Greetings from the land downunder.
Welcome, Carol, Mark and Gus Gus! :D

My advice for brushing would be to do it when he's tired or sleepy.
Give him treats for being good while you are brushing or a toy to chew on. It's very important that you get him used to it while he is small. That will ensure you'll have luck when he is older.
Your photos of Gus Gus are very adorable.

We're partial to the 2 name names. We have a cat named Nut Nut and the license plate on our 67 VW bus says Bus Bus.

Also, there is a great electronica band named Gus Gus from Iceland. I liked them more when they created more Trip Hop music, now they are just cranking out Electro music. They pronounce Gus Gus, Goose Goose.

When she referred to him as Gus Gus in another post, I thought he was named after the band and thought that was awesome!

Gus is still awesome, just not in the way I originally thought. Welcome to the forum![/i]
GUS GUS..........hmmmmmmmmmmm...

After the mouse in Cinderella????? WHAT A CUTIE...................
welcome from fla.. make sure he knows who is boss and a pup class is always the best good luck
welcome from colorado. get him used to being brushed and touched now!!!! will make life easier. an earlier post mentioned brushing when tired I agree. Obe will lay there if tired. Wound up, forget it that is play time in his mind.
As a sheepie mother to a Crumpet (my first OES) I agree with the name, but find Gus far more suitable to this little fluffbag.

Dirt? You ain't seen nothing yet!!
Thanks for all of the welcome posts!

Gus was not named after the band (seeing as I didn't even know!) but more after the mouse in Cinderella :) We liked the name Gus, and my sister started saying "Gus Gus! Like the mouse! Gus Gus!" and it's just one of those names that bears repeating when you say it! Crumpet came because I thought it was cute, but my husband vetoed it for a first name, and we felt he needed a fancy name for registration- hence Sir Gustavius. He's not very fancy in any other sense, just fluffy!

He's getting better about being brushed, slowly but surely. He even let me blow dry his for a bit after his bath last night. That was a true breakthrough! He seems to have a bit of an upset tummy today- he's eating fine and drinking water like it's going out of style, but he seems a bit slow and mopey today and rather stinky- he can sure clear a room! I'm sure he'll be back to his psychotic self by tonight!

Gus says "thanks!" and is excited he has so many new friends :)
Welcome to the forum!
I have a cat named Gus, another named Joe and sheepie, Finnigan!
The name comes with countless nicknames as my cat is usually called Gussy-gooch or Gustafson.
Good luck with all things PUPPY :D

Welcome to the forum. The best way to get him use to the brushing is to do it when he is tired and often, even if it is only 5 minutes at a time.
Land sakes! He's gorgeous!! I just love the picture of you holding him. Your smile & his expression are perfect. :D Welcome to the forum! :D
