I am praying for Wendy

I allowed Wendy, through carelessness, to eat the plastic top off a Rotisserie chicken and down to the bones.

I am never eating another Rotisserie chicken.

I pray that, if we all pray hard enough for each other before bed, maybe more Miracles will happen and fewer tragedies.

I will never foget it or fogive myself. She was my dog and my responsibility. I am supposed to think for her, and I failed to do that.

If she lives, I will dedicate myself to saving dogs and cats every which way I can.

Once, not that anyone cares, in a Madeline L'Engle book, I think, but I'm brain-damaged, that if praying seems hard -- which it always has to me; I feel like I'm just saying words and that no one is listeneing -- Madeline L'Engle suggests that all one has to do to pray is to take whatever person or thing for which one wants to pray INTO ONE'S HEART and lift that person or animal or thing or any entity at all (and those are HER words) up to God. Just lift it/them up, even if it seems all darkenss, what do we know of the nature of God? Perhaps the darkness is our peace at the end of the day. Perhaps the darkness is our test. Perhaps the darkness is that of the human soul. The important thing is not that we see darkness or nada or whatever: the important thing is that we lifted something precious to us up to God. (Those were the words of Madeline L'Engle). Please forgive errors.

I hope very much that Wendy pulls through ok :( Thinking good thoughts for her and you!
You must be very upset. Is Wendy getting care from a vet?

I'll say a prayer for Wendy and you too.
Please keep us posted on how you're baby is doing.
This should make you feel a bit easier... my first guy ate an entire chicken carcass (that some entire jackass (me or Joan, I dont' recall) left around) with no apparent ill effects.

I hope that Wendy will be OK. I wll say a little prayer for you and Wendy as well.

(BTW, children's book author Madeleine L’Engle died on Thursday, September 6, 2007 in Litchfield, Conn. She was 88. :( )
My Boxer that I had years ago ate an entire Chicken carcass and all too.
She was fine. The Vet said make sure you give her lots of fiber. I looked through my pantry and the first thing I saw was beans, I knew they were high in fiber. So I gave her baked beans 8O . Boy was it smelly in my house for a few days, but she was fine.
I hope Wendy will be okay. :plead:
Wishing all the best for Wendy and hoping all will pass without any problems.

Don't be so hard on yourself, it happens. One of my sheepie girls ate a whole cooked roast chook, bones and all that was cooling on the bench.

You can read through the forum at all the amazing things peoples sheepies have eaten. Socks, underwear, and list goes on and on etc etc.

Just keep a good eye on her, make sure when she potties that all is passing through OK. Any sign of straining, going off her food, trying to vomit just not herself then straight off to the vets .

Hopefully it will all pass with no problems.
I will put Wendy in my prayers. I do beleave in the power of prayer :)
I hope that Wendy is soon on the road to recovery, please keep us posted.
hope wendy feels better soon please keep us posted.. accidents happen
I'm sending good thoughts for you and Wendy. We all blame ourselves when something happens to one of our furkids but that's what it was an accident. I pray Wendy will be okay and please keep in touch. Hugs to you and belly rubs for Wendy.

Marianne
One way to help cushion chicken bones through the stomach and bowels is to feed bread (several slices) right after the dog eats it.

If it makes you feel any better, our little dog devoured a whole dead bird in one gulp and he was completely fine.
Hi,

How's Wendy doing?
