Boarding my puppy... So concerned now

Well, now that it is closer to our planned vacation. I am hoping that boarding my soon to be 5 month old OES wont be damaging in any way.

First of all....my gosh I adore her!! What a different world it is with an OES.
So loveable and funny!! I see what each and everyone of you guys mean by every comment about these dogs!! They are WONDERFUL.

Anyway, has anyone ever boarded their OES this young (for 8 days) and how did it go? You know...I don't want her spirit to be broken and think we have left her!

She stays tommorow at the same kennel for a free "get use to visit" with doggy day camp, walks, treats, bath etc. before the big week.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

oh, I forgot...she will be with our other older dog also...same room.
She'll be fine! Look at it as a little vacation for her. New environment, lots of new smells, etc. 8 days will fly by.
She will be okay. I have not boarded Obe for 8 days but he did go for three days about a month a go. He loved it, and they said all he wants is to play then attention and a nap.
my trio was fine at the boarding hotel. I was the wreck
Enjoy your vacation.
Very good all!! Thank you!
I will enjoy...(or try) LOL
We have boarded Barkley from the time he was 12 weeks old. As long as you are comfortable with the boarding facility, your puppy will do wonderfully. YOu can guarantee that the puppy will do better than you the first couple of times. I can remember calling the boarding facility daily on our first trip. Boarding facilities are use to these daily calls. Getting a tour and seeing how your puppy reacts at the facility may help you be more comfortable with the situation. Good luck.
Your pups will most likely do better than you will! Assuming of course that you have checked out the kennel and are comfortable with the arrangement.

Just make sure both dogs have been vacinated for kennel cough.
:D
Hi everyone! I am the original guest poster.
Just wanted to say that even though i was so worried, alot of great things came out of boarding Addie in october.

I was comfortable with the kennel. Well known. Still worried though.lol

Anyway, before she was some what shy and afraid of other dogs. (at puppy class etc.)

Boy, when she came home she was so different! No longer shy! Would romp with other dogs and such. I guess when they had puppy play time there, it very much helped! I have also socialized her a whole lot since I got her as a puppy. She would ride in my van and really met alot of people.
So just wanted to thank everyone. You were right.
