Hello I hate to make this post but I need to find a good home for my one year old sheep dog. I just moved to Vancouver from Halifax. With my and my wifes new job we find that we are working a lot longer hours and we no long have a good back yard for him to play in. It is unfair to him. He is great with kids I have a 3 and 6 year old.
Wish I could take him...too far away though.
Have you contacted your breeder and let her know the situation?
Most breeders require you to return the dog to them.
I would take a look at your sales contract before you try to find him a new home.
I'm so sorry. I'm sure others will post with information to help. He's a lovely boy.

If the breeder won't take him back, you might consider printing up an an
application that an OES rescue uses so you can try to place him in the best
home possible. Here's an example-

PLEASE keep us posted on how your search is going.
Yes my breeder is happy for me to find a good home for him. Like I said i hate the idea of trying to fine a new home but I am trying to think of him as well.
James
i see you love your boy.. where is he at? i know this must be so hard on you
Is he nuetered?
Your breeder is happy for you to find him a good home.. does that mean she will not take him back or help you rehome him.

Has Prince been neutered since the last time I've seen him.

I am sorry for Prince that he has to go through this.
Here's a couple of people you may contact:
Christine Bunsick-Pesche, National Rescue chair person for OESCA, oes@bnis.net

Grannie Annie with the New England OES Rescue, grannie.annie@neoesr.org
Oh James, that's so terrible. Crying or Very sad

You're in Vancouver...

Maybe Marianne might know somebody (NOT HERSELF) who might be interested? I'll PM her.
I have lots of sympathy and wish you luck. I am sure a wonderful home can be found for your beautiful pup.
Also, here's an e-mail to the rescue contact in Canada: rescue@oesocc.org

Beautiful pup. I wish you were not so far away. I am going to do some checking around and see if I can possibly arrange transportation. If possible I will contact you.
Hi James,
How about Doggie Daycare or someone to come in during the day for an hour or so. I hate to see you have to give your boy up. Just a thought.
Hi James and Chevonne,

Welcome to the forum and I'm sorry to hear about the circumstances. I'll try to help if I can.

I'll pm you my phone number.

Marianne
any news on prince finding a home?
Ty you for all your post. We are now trying to keep him. We are trying to work out something with some one to let him out and play with him for a hour a day.will keep everyone updated
Awww... that would be wonderful. Very Happy
Good luck to you!
James, that's what we've done since Bailey was a puppy. We have a dog sitter come in around noon to let him out and play with him for a while. I hope it works out for you!
Very Happy This might be of interest to you: Willoughby and I moved from the Okanagan to Surrey when he was just a year old. I worried because we had lost our big garden and just had a pocket-handkerchief space instead at our townhouse. Also, my work changed form home- based to office based. However, he adapted. I made sure to walk him before and after work, and he had the radio and our two cats for company , toys, water as well as a safe space all his own. He had treats when I left for work in the AM. After 18 months, I'm back at home but I may have to work otuside again. I'm sure with help from a dog sitter, Prince will be fine. Best wishes. Very Happy
