Hi from Northern Michigan!

Hi there! I've been on for a few days now, and since Dodger is taking a nap, I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Alison, and just recently got Dodger, a male OES who will be 12 weeks old tomorrow! I guess I'll share my story about how we got our little boy!

Before my husband and I got married we had done a ton of research trying to find a dog breed that would fit into our lifestyle and get along with my 6 year old bichon, Becky. I had a sheepie as a child and my husband thought it was a great idea. Well, Becky became quite ill as we moved into our new house and had to be put down on our wedding day. :( It turned out she had a tumor on her pancreas and did not show any alarming signs until it was too late. Talk about going through all the emotions you have in one day... We had already been researching breeders and so, we decided to go ahead and get the little brother for Becky like we had planned all along. It's been hard not having her here, but I couldn't love our little Dodger any more! :hearts: I know we made the right decision, and he has brought so much silly-nes (is that a word?) to our home. He had his first puppy class last night, and was at times the star of the class!!!

Thank you for all of the advice that you all post here. It has been so wonderful to read all of your stories and learn more about our goofy sheepies from you!!!

Welcome to the community, Alison (and Dodger!)!!!

What a cutie!
Hi and welcome to the forum, Dodger is sure a handsome little fellow
Welcome to thid great fourm. I also had to put down our Oes but I made them wait 1 day so as it would not be on my birthday. She had liver cancer with no signs untill one day and 2 days she was put down. So I know how you feel. We also lost a OES puppy at 6 1/2 months with a bad heart, we knew that when we took her. Good luck and again welcome

Welcome from southeastern Michigan!
ButtersStotch -

I used to live downstate (sterling hts. actually) until last year. I had to move north to get a teaching job. I love it up here, but miss the convenience of living down near Detroit. Have you ever been to the WAB? (Woodward Ave. Brewing). I love that place! I am missing their pumpkin beer terribly this time of year!

Everyone else - thanks for the warm welcome, I'm glad to have found this place!

I live within walking distance of the WAB. We go on Monday nights for half off food night!

Where are you at now?
I love half off food night! When i lived in Sterling Heights ans my now husband lived in Ypsilanti we would often meet there for dinner. Their taco salads are wonderful!

Now I'm living north of Traverse City in Bellaire. It's different from living in the suburbs, but a nice change. (There are both lakes and skiing 5 minutes from my house!)
welcome from colorado
Welcome from Barney and Maggie in St. Louis. Sorry to hear of your loss and under such circumstances. I'm sure Dodger will win a place in your heart.
Welcome from Kansas. What a doll he is!
Thanks for all of the warm welcomes! Just wanted to let everyone know that Dodger passed his puppy kindergarten class!!! :D
WAY TO GO DODGER! :high5: :cheer: :clappurple:
