Hello from Lancashire, UK!

Hi
My name is Carol and my husband, John, and I have a fantastic one year old sheepie called Bear. We have only had Bear for just over a week now and he's settled in so well. We've been reading this forum with interest as, although we have had an OES before, there's always lots to learn and we don't seem to have an equivalent forum here in the UK! :?
Bear is actually deaf but apart from not being able to let him run free and having to jump up to stop him going through the rubbish bin rather than just telling him off, it's going really well!
I'm in the process of getting some pictures uploaded and will continue to read through the posts with interest!
thanks
Carol

Whoooah, why does it say "shaved" under my name!!!!!
I'm assuming this is Bear you mean! He's not shaved, how do I change this?!!!!

Hi and welcome to the forum :D , the shaved thing is based on your number of posts and changes as you reach certain numbers
Thanks for that I was getting worried that you actually had a webcam set up somewhere! (only joking!)
Hiya!! glad you could join us!!
I won't ask why your user rank would be appropriate if we DID have a webcam. LOL

Welcome again!
Hi Carol and Bear, Welcome to the forum, sending G'days from the land downunder. :D

Hello and welcome to the forum!
Hi Carol! Love the pictures of Bear, especially the one with him hugging John. Too sweet!! Glad you could join us. We have quite a few members in the UK and they get together occassionally for a very fun Sheepie Day.

Haa! I thought the same thing when I joined. Now mine says, "furry," and I like that so I'm going to have to stop talking to everyone so it won't change.
Ack! Wait... it already says "combable" :( :( :(

Oh well. I can tell you though that it doesn't take too long to not be "shaved" anymore.
Welcome, Carol, John and Bear from Pennsylvania! We do have quite a few UK members, so maybe you'll find someone who lives close by.

Great pictures of Bear - he's such a cutie!
thanks to everyone for the warm welcome!

Welcome from the California High Desert...couldn't resist. How great is it that you have adopted a deaf boy! Nigel sends him a sloppy hello.
Hi from not-so-sunny Wiltshire!

I've only recently joined and have found it to be a wam fluffy place to be :D

We have a lurcher who is deaf from birth and they are just as easy to train as a dog that can hear. The only difference is instead of "cocking a deaf un" they "turn a blind eye"

Welcome from sunny Florida! 8) I will be looking forward to hearing stories of your wonderful sheepie Bear. My husband used to have the most wonderful New Foundland named Bear and she was one of the best dogs ever, rip. If your Bear is as good as his Bear was you are golden. Thank you for joining us!
