Crazy feeling

Last Thursday night I had a really tough time sleeping. I just had a really bad feeling about the long trip we had to make on Friday. My daughter, hubby and myself where supposed to drive about 3 hours south of where we live, just south/west of Fort Lauderdale, for an appointment my daughter had. My daughter, Amy, is disabled with Charcotte, Marie, Tooth Disease aka CMT which is a nerve/muscle degenerative disease. (Charcotte, Marie, Tooth are the names of the three French Doctors who discovered this disease.) Anyway, so the meds she takes have been harsh on her teeth and we where going to a Dental School that her Dr had recommended, that would do the work she needed done for an affordable price for her.
Anyway, I mentioned to both Amy/Chuck about this bad feeling I had. I was thinking, maybe it is only going to be car problems. I had Chuck do a recheck of the car, even though he had checked everything the night before. We packed some sandwiches and fruit and off we went. It really was a beautiful day. We where traveling down I 95 and everything was going fine. Traffice was moving smoothly for the first 2 1/2 hours. All of a sudden we are in Fort Lauderdale and the traffic is at a dead stop. We had noticed in front of us, to the right, a storm cloud and lightening. We where just barely past Exit #36 and parked.(our exit # was 26..so close but yet so far) I sat and watched the police put flares at the entrance to the x-way and then put flares across the x-way one car behind us. The guy in the next car tapped on his window and told us that a plane crashed on the x-way in front of us. So after sometime. we where able to manuever our way to the exit. We had already called and let them know we where going to be late...and they said very late. By the time we got off the x-way and able to go to a gas station, it was a hopeless case, the traffic was at a stand still. So we called the Dental college back again and cancelled. We where finally able to head back home....through storms...in and out of them all the way home.
We found out Saturday, on the news, that the plane was a small plane and the pilot was not injured.

I saw the story on the news and they did mention the horrible traffic jam. I'm glad nobody was hurt, but sorry about the dental appt. Amazing job of landing a little plane on a busy highway!!
Thank Goodness you were all safe. That is so scarey. Those feeling you had were very intuitive.
Does that happen to you often? Your gut telling you that something is wrong- or- going to happen?

That is the second time something like that has happened to me. Many years ago, when my son, Aaron, was little he and I where heading somewhere, I don't recall where. At the time we lived out in the country in Riley Twp Michigan and where driving on 32 mile Rd into Romeo. All of a sudden there was a small airplane coming at us on the road. We where very lucky to say the least. The Romeo airport is right along 32 Mile rd and they had missed their airstrip.
Wow, I'm glad you guys weren't hurt. What an experience! Sucks to be out there for so long and not know exactly what's going on!!! Glad you made it home. Good thing you brought some snacks! ;)
I also saw that story on tv. How frightening for all of you!

You must always listen to your gut! As we say in my family, "You've got the shining!" I wouldn't let it stop my plans, but I would know I have to proceed with extra caution.

BTW, how is that pilot doing? I thought I heard he was in critical condition on the news. Maybe, I misunderstood.
i saw that and i see alot i live by you and work in ft. laud and go down there weekly i hate the 95 drive!! glad you are ok..
Wow! That's crazy...

According to what we heard on the news Saturday, the pilot was ok.
I'm glad no one was hurt....

I come from a long line of "always listen to your gut" women...My mother, grandmother and great grandmother all had a special gift.

It seems that you have it to.
