I know its early but...christmas cards?

I know that this is way early but I was wondering if the forum was going to do the christmas card exchange again this year. I loved it the past few years, it is so much fun. Currently they have a bunch of really cute cards at Costco so I wanted to get ahead of the game this year and have enough of one kind before they run out....

im game...and i just decided on the photo to use!
I'm in again this year. Despite the fact that I'm lazy about sending cards, it forced me to get all my cards out, plus, I enjoyed everything I got back. :)
This'll be my 1st X-mas on the forum....how does this work? :excited: :?:
Definitely include me. I loved it last year.
I'm in! Last year was my first year and I loved it.

Laurel: Last year Chris took all of our screen names and we e mailed her out real names and address. She then made a list and put it on one of the word formats, so we could use labels, she then e mailed the addresses back to each of us who participated, and we sent each other Christmas Cards all over the world. It was really great. Most of the people who participated, made cards from their own pics of their sheep dogs. Many, many talented people. It was great and Chris did a great job. We where all excited when the first cards started to arrive....up to the end.

No, I don't think it is to early....they start taking pics with your pets in October at Target. :D
Duch and I would like to join in
I'm in!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris did a GREAT job witht he list last year HINT HINT HINT, of course I think it was Dudster that did a equally good job the years before. So we have lots of experienced "listers"

My first year too- and it sounds like so much fun! If we do it- count me in!!
well, sounds like we got a lot of takers already. Anyone willing to volunteer to make the list?? I would do it but I dont have the organizational skills needed for this and I'm not on any other sheepie forum to spread the word.
I would give Drezzie's mom a chance to reply before asking if others want to do it. She may want to do it again since she already has the format down.

I would prefer it to only be oes.org members again. If others join in from other lists like we did one year, I'd want them identified so we can decide whether or not to mail them. The 60 plus members here that participated was enough for me ;)
i'm in but how does it work

As I don't belong to any other OES forums I would only be interested in the ones here, so if that presents a problem I will be willing to bow out
That was basically the general consensus last year. It was just the first year we did this, we included some people from another list, but we didn't nearly have the number of participants as last year. :)
Okay, Keeper of the List answering here.

OF COURSE I'd be happy to do it again this year! I was thinking about it the other day and figured I'd put the announcement out around October 1, but it looks like you all are already ready! I have last year's list saved, so basically all I have to do is tweaking - change addresses, add or remove people.

So here's how it works. You PM me with your real name, address, your pet(s) name(s), and your email address. Also please verify that you can open a Word document. I compile the list and send it out to everyone via regular email. The first few pages of the document will be the labels - you can print them on any standard label that has 30 sheets per page, each label being 1" x 2 5/8". The last few pages of the document will be member's name/address, their oes.org screen name, and their pet(s) name(s).

For those who were on the list last year, please PM me with either a stay on or take off comment. If you want to stay on, please let me know if your address has changed.

Now here's a question. What should I do if someone was on the list last year and does not tell me one way or the other if they want to stay on this year? Should I just take them off, or leave them on in the hopes they will still want to participate?

I'll look to have the list distributed by November 1. That way it gives enough time for people sending cards internationally.

Can you believe we're that close to Christmas already?????
No to the Christmas already being around the corner but that's a good thing. Mr. J will be home soon!!!! :yay:

If they don't reply THIS YEAR to wanting to be on the list, I don't think they should be included. I only would want people who are interested and make that verbal commitment to send out cards as well. That's my personal opinion on the matter.

Can we do usernames too like last year? :plead: :)

Thanks Drezzie's Mom!!!! :)
I don't think it's too hard to reply yes or no, Chris. I would take no response as no participation. Will you send out an actual e-mail? I know some people aren't on the forum as much as others and may see an e-mail first.
That's a good point, Jill. I can send out an email to last year's list asking them to respond.

And yes, Jo, screen names (or user's names) will be included, as last year.
I personally agree with the idea of keeping it to this forum.. there are plenty of people to send cards to alreay anyway. And I am definitely for having Drezzie's mom do it again this year. She did an awesome job last year and as was said already, she has a format and system down. Anyway, I just wanted to see if we were going to do it again.... now I can get enough cards of the same kind..
Just writing "Merry Christmas" on all the cards last year was enough to make my hand hurt. My handwriting went from legible to WTH?

They had the picture with your pet in October last year in Viera....I am assuming they will be doing it again this year. I'm calling this week to find out.
I want to be included again this year, too, Chris. :D The forum Christmas card exchange is one of the highlights of the season for me. :P
im in of course!!!!
We are in! Harry and I can't wait.

I get excited just thinking about it and I still remember some of these cards even though they are teeny tiny in the photo. I see Nelson in his shades .... and Genevieve and Beauregaurd on the bed ...... and Maizie's nose front and center ...... and Panda on the beach ........and Chewie in a shirt ..... oh I really can't wait!!!! I'm getting :excited: just thinking about it!

I am so excited! I can hardly wait ! :D
As a reminder for those who were not on the list last year - just saying you want in on this thread doesn't give me the info I need. Please remember to PM me with your info!

Huh?
It means to the top which is commonly used to draw attn to a thread again.
Thanks Chris!!
I got your email and will be sending the updates off to you.

The xmas card exchange was so incredibly fun last year. My coworkers are even asking about it already! 8O (I took the cards into the hospital and showed them off - they were amazed!)
After Xmas last year, I took all that I had received and put them in a scrapbook and took it to work. All my coworkers kept asking me - how can you keep all the dogs and owner's names straight? All the dogs look alike.
I'm in too!! I really enjoyed everyones cards last year.
Someof our members are so talented and creative. :D :D
It is ABSOLUTELY the highlight of my Holiday!!!
I'll do it! This will be my first time, but I have a secret stash of OES X-mas cards that I have been waiting to send out to people who would really appriciate how adorable they are. This would be the perfect oppertunity to break them out!
As a reminder - if you were on last year's list, you should have received an email from me asking if you wanted to be on this year's list. If you have not responded to that email, please do so soon.

To anyone who was not on last year's list, please PM or email me with the following information: full name and mailing address, your email address, your pet(s) name(s), and if you can open a Word document.

Your email address will not be made public, even to the other members on the list. I am the only one who will know it.

Thanks!
Wow this sounds great! What a lovely idea!

I'll send you our info.

Looks like it works really well! I have no idea where you can get a pic made into cards in the UK, anyone else know?
