Aw, it's good to see him up and about!
good boy Derby!!! I think skinny legs are beautiful!!!!!!
I've been thinking of Derby and had sent you a PM but then deleted it when I found this update... he's looking great! :D

I know it's hot out but if you can keep a long sleeved shirt on him it will help to save his skin. I'm going through this with Darby and she simply has to wear one because of all the licking due to her wretched seasonal allergies. (Between the shirts and the things the holistic vet prescribed, things are going better now.)

When Emma had surgery earlier this year the worst part was where they had shaved her leg for the IV... it was like what you described... razor burn... hers was from her licking so much so we had to resort to clothes again. I didn't think of using the long sleeve shirt at the time so I used socks too  http://oesusa.com/Page111.html

I hope you're holding up through all of this too! It's stressful for everyone but it looks like Derby's recovering well :D

I wish I had skinny legs!
hey jaci we are doing ok.. he is getting cabin fever at this point,, being so young it is hard to keep him from wanting to run.. they said 6 weeks leash only , no playing walking etc.. this will pass i hope i just feel bad when he trysto push himself you can see he is still in pain and starts limping.. i guess in a way i am glad he is with my 2 old girls who want to just lay around.. yes i too am jelous he has some nice legs.. but you can really see how his front legs turn at his elbows out ..
Great to see him up and about. :D
I'm glad to see Derby up & walking. :D It is going to be tiring for you and challenging to keep him still & quiet for six weeks. Good luck. :D

Yeah... I can see that. Sweet baby anyway.

Sometimes NOT masking all the pain can be a good thing... it keeps them from doing crazy stuff when they need to be recuperating and taking it easy. Kinda like built in speed bumps... it slows them down a bit.
Derby is one mighty cute pup! Glad he is up and about. . .
His doing so well, what a boy, even the fuzz is growing back quickly. :)

Keep getting stronger and stronger sweetie. :D
I was wondering how Derby was doing. Good to see him walking. His poor skinny little lgs - but the hair is growing back!
Good luck keeping him quiet, that is so hard with the young dogs.
I was happy to see Derby up...he looks really good. Hopefully a quick healing for him. He looks adorable napping also, he is such a pretty boy. Get better soon little man.
Just catching up! Hugs to your sweet boy!!! :ghug:
derby is doing great walking and maybe doing a bit too much i have him swimming in the lake daily but he gets tired real quick.. will post some new pics
So glad to hear that Derby is on the mend. Swimming is a great non-weight bearing exercise for him, and a tired sheepie is a good sheepie.
