In telling this tale, I must admit something bad....I let my dogs walk around our cul-de-sac off leash.

A long time ago, I wrote about one of my neighbors, Frank. A very elderly man who walks everywhere. He never says much, more of a nod of the head guy. I've never seen him smile.

At lunch today, I took the dogs out. They were doing their sniffing on the wooded island in the middle of the cul-de-sac, and suddenly, took off. Well, my heart stopped! I called them and Keira came running, but no Pirate. So, Keira and I walked around the island, and there, walking very slowly, with his head hanging, was old man Frank. Right next to him, almost butted up against him, walking at the very same pace, was Pirate! While I was looking at them, I noticed Frank was scratching Pirate's head while they were walking! Oh my gosh! It was precious!!!! I wish I had my camera with me. The two of them, walking so slowly and soundlessly was really something!

So, being the bad Mom I am, I yelled HOUSE! and Pirate and Keira took off for home.
Awwwww...

Bad mom! Wink
That sounds so sweet!!
very sweet!
Deb,

That story bought tears to my eyes. Maybe Pirate can go visit this gentleman from time to time... might put a smile on his face.

Awww, that is so cool. I bet Frank loved it.
What a sweet boy Pirate is. I can just see it, awww!!!!
Pirate probably is tired of trying to keep up with the new fit you Deborah....he says Frank walks at just his speed Very Happy Very Happy
How sweet! hearts
When Pirate came running back, Frank didn't even look up. In my mind, I kept thinking, he's probably remembering being a little boy back in Italy playing with his boyhood dog.

I hope the two of them get a chance to do that again.

Yes, it was very sweet! And Pirate really seemed to love the special attention.
sheepie love is good for the soul Smile
What a sweet boy Pirate is....and what a lovely story. Smile
Pirate, pirate, pirate...what a doll baby you are.....
hearts
All choked up here. Nothing like a sweet doggers to make you young again. I've seen it many times. A dog can reach an older person like no one else can. That picture would have won a few contests I'm sure.

Thanks for sharing!
How sweet Very Happy Very Happy
