"B" no more "Q"

Hee hee....odd topic!

I haven't worn panty hose in awhile (summer and all) but needed to buy a pair for the Jewish holidays.

Well, for the first time in YEARS I'm no longer in Queen Size!!!! I'm a regular pantyhose size B!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was very exciting for me!!!!!

That's alright. For some reason I was thinking it pertained to bra size!
A "Q" cup?????

Yowzer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was perplexed but couldn't think of what else it would mean. I've only been as far as the Cs in the rack so how would I know there couldn't be a Q out there somewhere? I've seen some that I could stick my head into so maybe those were Z's?

P.S. Mom's don't find that funny when you do it in the store!!!
I saw a woman on Saturday that I'm sure was at least a "Q". And she wasn't shy about showing them off either. 8O

I can't remember that last time I bought pantyhose, either. Too hot to wear them down here in Florida.
I'm in MN, and I still don't wear them. :D Nasty things!!!

And yes, I didn't get the title either.
8O 8O A "Q" cup 8O 8O Zowie that's bigger than ME!

Congrats on the weight loss. I got stalled about a month ago, time to climb back on the wagon.......don't believe there is life under Queen size.......

Haaaaaaaaaaa!! That is hilarious!

Panty hose suck! But congratulations on the letter change! It's always fun to realize the little perks of a big accomplishment.
I had NO idea what you were talking about. Congrats though! That's exciting. I haven't worn pantyhose since I was in elementary school for church. I'd have no idea what size to get.
I also had no clue what this thread was about.
Congrats Deb! :clappurple:
 I still have no idea what this thread is about. What are panty hose?

Pantyhose are nylons you wear on your legs. They come in about four different sizes A, B, C, D and Q from what I remember.
Pantyhose in US are called tights in UK. Here "tights" refers to the heavier opaque leg coverings while "Pantyhose" refers to the lighter transparent clothes of torture.

Stockings are the same both side of the pond......they require supports.

Holdups in UK are Thigh Highs were, no extra support needed.

Kneehighs are stockings that come to the knee.

Now the term "panyhose".......I don't know if that's just a UK misspelling of Pantyhose or some sexual clothing item.

Oh, you lucky girl!
I've given those awful things up too......and to think I used to love wearing them under my ski pants.............I must have been NUTS!

LOL.... so did my grandmother, and I always thought it was the weirdest thing.

As far as a Q-size bra, OMG that would be awful! Before my breast reduction I was a 38 III (yes, triple I). I had to special order my bras and pay an arm and a leg for them, and I was in physical therapy due to back problems. Thank God my insurance company realized what a pain they were, and they approved my procedure. I lost 20 lbs in 1 day!!!
I like lined suit pants... Is that sort of the same as wearing nylons under a pair of pants?
You all are making me feel so old! NO, I DO NOT WEAR PANTYHOSE UNDER SLACKS!!! I was wearing a suit and need to wear sometype of stockings.

What do you guys wears, or do you go bare legged? And if you do go bare legged all the time, don't you get blisters from your high heels?
Haaa.... Ron, maybe this will make sense (in guy clothes). Comparing pantyhose to lined suitpants is like trying to say that the constriction of "tighty-whiteys" is the same as the constriction of a kilt! No way!
i dont wear nylons in the summer with sandals....and in the winter i either wear hi heeled boots with socks....or still go nylon-less
debcram wrote:

You're not alone!! I have to wear pantyhose to work sometimes. If I don't, my feet definitely feel it by the end of the day. I hate control-top kind though... they make me have love-handles! 8O (And I'm small!!) And I usually only get one use out of them before they're torn to shreds. I like the softest, sheerest kinds. They do make your feet feel better in heels. And in the winter, they help keep you warm! :)
I just wear the kind that are the size of normal socks if I need to or nothing at all.
I never wear pantyhose. But I also usually work in a pretty relaxed environment. When clients come I'll wear a suit, otherwise it can be jeans. I go barelegged or I'll wear thicker tights during the winter, but even that I don't really like so I'll usually shiver before I wear tights! I just have memories of having to wear tights as a little girl in elementary school and they always fell down and were such a pain!

Steph--I get those love handles too! I hate it! I usually pull them up extra high and fold them over--for some reason that works for me.

Most of us don't wear high heels; we prefer sensible shoes.
groan.......... :?
None of you lovely ladies would have to worry about love handles if you just wore SPANX! pffft....
Or laid off the candy corn! :cow: hee hee...

(No, seriously... the control top is SO tight that your body has no choice but to have everything come spill out of the top. Kind of like a hip-heigth corsette. Are spanks those giant girdles? Like what Kate wore on Jon&Kate Plus 8 after she had 3-million kids??)
I have no idea what kate wears since I haven't seen that show, but it sounds right. They hook to your bra so there's no shifting and no matter how much you bend over... no love handles. Oprah, Tyra, Paris, etc... all wear them. I love 'em!
Naw, you just pull your control tops up under your boobs, hides the handles.

Me getting into pantyhose is an Olympic event. So I opt for thigh highs in winter with skirts. Since I have some vein problem right where knee highs grab hold, I can't wear knee highs! Slacks......I usually go without or ankle highs but with my large feet, they usually don't fit. I'm best with toe socks.
Joahaeyo wrote:

I've always heard good things about those but I've always figured they were like all the other 'support' products that, at least for me, smooth me out but then, like Steph said, I come spilling out the top! And the original bulges look better than those bulges! Maybe I'll have to try it (after the wound heals, of course!--I'm going to wear baggy sweats to work tomorrow!)
i have such narrow feet that i wear a pair of tennis socks then a pair of wool hunting socks over the tennis socks when i wear my heeled boots.....

i wear the girdle too....excellent with those tight jeans and loose fitting tops......

just one recommendation...NEVER wear a girdle AND control top pantyhose AND a silk lined dress in july, in michigan, without any a/c.....phew....my brothers wedding sucked
I wear socks with boots, too. And socks with slacks.

BUT I WEAR PANTY HOSE WITH DRESSES, SKIRTS AND HIGH HEELS!!!

That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!

Deb, you're such a lady :)
How does that story go?

A gentleman at a function sees a woman whose stockings have fallen down and are all wrinkled. As chance would have it, he is seated next to her so he leans over and politely whispers: "You need to pull up your stockings" and she says "I'm not wearing any stockings"

Something like that.
OHHHHHH tights

Yes they are items of torture clearly invented by the same man who also invented bras and high heels  oh, and epilators.

Socks though, thats a different story, I LOVE SOCKS mmmmm warm and cosy and fluffy and lovely :D
Yes I AM a lady, dammit! (burp). Now I have to adjust my little white gloves before I pick my nose!!!

LOL Deb!

I never wear nylons....one of the perks of my career is that even when selling to the public, I'm expected to dress "artsy" not "professionally" Besides, my feet are so darn small that you cant find high heels in my size anyhow!

how the heck do you stand up, let alone walk on those ''feet''?
3s?????????????????? I've never heard of a 3s!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh!
Darcy wrote:

Hey, its all proportionate...the rest of me is kinda tiny too, although "roundish"

See? My Hubby's a big guy...but NOT a giant!
Image
My mom was 5'5" and my dad 6'6"!!

They used to call themselves Mutt and Jeff!

I once dated a girl 4'10" and I am 6'3". That was some difference too!
I would answer the inevitable question (well, one of the inevitable questions) with "Well, I'm really only five foot fifteeen."
awww Laurel!!! You are a munchkin!!! :D

That was, in fact my childhood nickname  My parents still call me that  My college nickname was "Hobbit"
Awwww...munchkin!

I thought my 5 1/2s were small feet! I'm going to go to AK and visit so I can feel tall. Your feet don't look weirdly small in that picture, either...

You have given a whole new meaning to the phrase "open mouth, insert foot"!!!
 You guys are really funny

I'm UK size 4 (I think thats 3 over there?) but my feet are really wide.

I love that pic of you and your hubby :hearts: you both look so happy. And you are not round lol
First, on the pantyhose issue. I'm old enough that I do still wear them in the winter - even under slacks! Just one of those old habits that sticks with you. . .

And on the height issue - sounds like MY family! At 5'2", my daughter and two neices are the tallest. I'm next at 5'1" (used to be 5'2"), my sister started out her full height at 4'10" and has shrunk to 4'8", and one of my cousins is now about 4'7". Every time my 6' son comes home and gives me a hug, his standard comment is - Did you shrink???

Chris, I'm coming to your house! I'd FINALLY be tall! (at 5'3")!!
I am staying away from meeting Chris and Laurel. Geez I would feel like a amazon woman at 5'11" and I wear a size 11 in women's shoes.

During the summer months or from April to Oct - I go without panty hose or socks - just to darn hot down here. However, Oct-Mar at work since I have to wear suits - if they are pants suits I wear trouser socks and if they are skirts - I wear panty hose.

And I am definitely on the Q size of life at 200 lbs.
