Hello rescues,

Please feel free to cross-post. (Photos attached) #2725-"Jake" is an owner turn-in, an 8 month-old Black Lab and Sheepdog mix, who looks like a black Sheepdog. You don't really see the Lab in him except for his coloring. He is housebroken and pretty well socialized. He is reported to like the neighbor's dogs but not the other dog in his former home, who happens to be another Sheepdog male, Jake's father. His mother is the neighbor's Black Lab. So perhaps he needs to be an only dog, live with female dogs, or perhaps it's just that he and his father are both dominant and clash -- difficult to tell. But he is not bad with other dogs as a general rule, according to his former owner, and he seems interested in the other dogs at the shelter. He is said to be good with children and likes to chase cats. He has not had any vaccines or been neutered yet.

For rescue, the PCAS provides a 7-way DLHPP shot and worming for a shelter fee of $15. If the pet is not known to have a current rabies shot, the rabies shot and health certificate is available for an additional $25 if required before transport. Proof of spay/neuter must be received by the PCAS within 30 days of rescue of unaltered pets. Transport assistance is sometimes, but not always available to within approximately 75 miles from our shelter, and we also work with Trish's Transport when they are transporting to the northeast. However, we are very full, so Jake needs to be moved out of the shelter ASAP.

Please reply to this message if you are interested in rescuing.

Thank you very much for your time,

I hope he finds a good home.
Fingers crossed (just rec'd this reply)
I think he will probably be rescued on Wednesday. A nice rescue in the Pittsburgh area is taking five dogs, and Jake is one of the ones they are interested in.
Oh I hope so! That would be great.

Thanks for the update Sue and also for watching
over so many of these furry kids in trouble. Know
that you make a difference in the lives of some
very lucky dogs. :D
