Still Missing Her

I'm new here, but just wanted to share the memory of my sheepie.

My first love, my first dog, has been gone for a year and half now.
It has gotten easier, but there are still days I break down and cry.
She was just a month away from turning 13. She went downhill in health so fast that i was hardly prepared when I came home and found her laying there not breathing.
It was the hardest thing i've ever done, burying my girl Xea.

Hi and welcome. I am so sorry for your pain my heart goes out to you. Your sheepie sounds wonderful and special.
Xea was a beautiful sheepie girl. I'm so sorry for your loss of her.

Thank you for sharing her pictures with us.
Xea looks like a gem. Even 13 years is not enough. :hearts:
I think big dogs are harder to love and lose, more like a person cos of the size. We lost our big on Jul7 7th and she wasn't even 6 so I know exactly what you are going through. Just come on here and everyone of us knows what you feel and what you are going through. Hugs for you xx
I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful sheepie girl Xea. Thank you for sharing her wonderful pics. She had such beautiful, soulful eyes. How lucky you where to have her.

Peace,
thank you everyone...i cant believe how sad i am still.

I am thinking of getting another sheepie, but I am afraid that seeing another in my house would just remind me of her even more and make me even sadder that she is not around.
You will know when you are ready, anyone on the forum can help when you decide when the time is right. Hang in there
Hello, Sara. I'm glad you found us on the forum. You will know when it is the right time for another sheepie. You will always remember your beautiful girl even if you have another little personality in the house :D
it's hard for me to even see everyone's avatars of their babies.
just makes me sad to see those goofy dogs.
thanks for the well wishes!
I can understand you so much cause my Ellie just died in April and I'm still upset even I've got Charlie now, but every Sheepie (and every other dog!) got something special!! I still talk to her even when I go to bed!! I also think she's playing with Charlie!!

Just wanna let you know your not alone in your grief!!
I know how you feel

:ghug:
Hugs for you, you are not alone.
I am sorry for your loss. No matter when they leave us it is always too soon. :(
Hello, Sara, I am glad you found the forum as there are lots of us who know your pain and know what you are going through. Like others have said, I think you will know when the times is right for another sheepie. Another one will not "replace" Xea. Even though there are similiarities, each one has their own personality. When you are ready, I think you will find a new sheepie will fill some of that void and bring you a lot of comfort.

By the way, I am in Van Buren. It is nice to know there is another sheepie-lover in Arkansas! Welcome to the forum.
I know how you feel too well. I lost my Mr. Whiskers two weeks before he turned 10. Not only was I torn apart by it, but his litter mate and his cat were dispondent over his lose. Yes my 140 pound boy had his own cat. It took a year before Annie or Willow would let another dog in. The pain is always bad, but living without fuzzies is worst. You will know when the right one come along. :ghug: But you do need to keep you mind open to new love.[/img]
I am truly sorry for your loss. There will be a day when your pain is replaced with peace. Love is such a treacherous journey and it makes you wonder if it is really worth the pain in the end. The answer is yes. Somewhere, there is another Sheepie waiting for you. You have an enormous support system on this site-so glad you found it.
i am sorry for your loss. I lost my Winston August 4 of this year.
I think of him every day and miss him terribly.
Sarah, We had to have Sydney, our 14 year old sheepie put down the first of December. The house was so empty that we got Bella around the first of February. We still love Syd and miss her but a new puppy does noy crowd out old memories it just maks new ones. Hearts are very expandabl. They can hold a lot of love.
