sheepie as a ringbearer

Hi all. Im getting married next summer and my fiance realllly wants either London or Tony as our ring bearer. I cannot imagine having two sheepies coming down the aisle - they probably cant keep their butts straight together. but annnnyway my question is... has anyone ever had a sheepie as their ringbearer? Positive or negative experience? and how old? does age really matter in a sheepdog- as if they ever calm down?

Not me, but my uncle and his wife had one of their dogs (a westie) be their ring bearer last summer. It was adorable! They had me make a fancy decorated collar for them (I made the brides bouquet and a variety of other stuff too) with a ribbon to tie the rings to. They had a designated person (my mom) walk him down the aisle on a leash. He behaved perfectly! I'll see if there are any photos of the ceremony on a digital camera so I can post them!

Congratulations by the way!!! :excited: :yay:
If you exchange rings, one for each dog!
If they bring the ring, make sure it's fastened well to something they can't eat. :D
Good point or else we'll end up with wedding photos like Panda's San Diego vacation photo.
Why not just have them come down with the groomsmen on a pink/blue lead or whatever color theme your wedding is. I think it would be great and that way, they're not all over the place. Controllable. I'm so jealous. Please take lots of pics!
I assume the brides dad will be walking her down the aisle, so

have the grooms dad walk the dogs down the aisle.
OR,
Both of your mothers.
OR,
A mini bride and groom
Sounds lovely!
What a great idea!! Can't wait to see the pictures!!!!!!!!!
Thanks everyone for their wonderful ideas!!!!! I think i'm going to have the best man or my man of honor walk london down - for more control.

I like that idea.... The color is chartruese (a shade of green)... I wonder if I can make it with a sturdy ribbon..

will definitely post up pictures after the wedding!

I would buy a cheap nylon lead in a color close to yours and sew ribbon in your color on both sides.

This is how I did Kirby's! (the Westie) :D I then added some beads and silk flowers to both the lead and the collar. Surprisingly easy to do!
