Biggest Loser

I am addicted to this show and cannot wait for this new season to start tonight.

I tuned into the original because it was the only thing on Tuesday nights when I was grooming Mopsy. And I was initially horrified that they made the men weigh shirtless or the women in a sports bra. I thought, "Is it necessary to degrade them on national TV?" Yes I know, they did sign up for low brow reality television. But since then I find myself actually pulling for these people to succeed and look forward to the weigh in each week.

So is there anyone else out there who tunes into this show or am I alone?

I've watched 2 of the seasons, I think. I like it, but I've heard that there is some shady weight loss that goes on behind the scenes, despite them proclaiming to do it the 'right' way...
I'm so impressed with the finale that I always at least tune in for that, but do enjoy the show. Plan on watching it unless something else interferes.
I knew I could count on you Mrs. J for Reality TV!
I have watched it intermittantly.
My reality show weakness is HGTV's Design Star.
Ms. J, I'm with you. I am a full fledged reality show addict and I love this one! For anyone who has been on the diet yoyo a few times, it is pretty inspiring. I'm happy both original trainers are back on :D

Is it a bad thing to watch the show while eating ice cream 8O I confess.
Yes, this show always has me so inspired.

"If they can do it, I can go running tonight"

...then I go to bed when the show ends. Lately with a plate of pizza on my belly.
I have never been interested in the show but feel the need to watch this season. It was hard juggling the channels from Biggest Loser to BB 8 tonight. Looks like this will be my Tuesday night show. Prison Break is my Monday night show!!
I tried real hard last night to watch but chat here had a MILLION people in there, so it was hard to pay attn. :( I also didn't realize it came on the same time as BB as stated by the previous poster. But at least our other show ends next week.
Go Jerry! I am totally pulling for the older guy - he had a try hard mindset! Maybe it is just me but a lot of the girls seemed whinier than usual.
Did anyone catch the finale?

WOW! Julie and Hollie looked great. So did Bill and Jim.

They need to separate the men from the women so that the women have a shot at the money.

Hollie's comment about the 90% failure rate was sadly true. Most of these people won't be able to keep the weight off. :( I am always happy for the past contestants who have managed to do so.
Mr J thought the brunette was HOT! :) We watched up until the last 20 min.
Holly (the brunette) looked really good! They all did, really. Although I don't know if moving to LA is the best place to be if you have big body image issues...

Julie must be really short or something, because, while she looked great, she looked like she could still lose a little more weight (unless it was excess skin that made her look bigger), but she weighed 120.

I agree with the separating the men and the women for judging purposes. I know that they try to be fair by doing percentage of weight lost, but men still have an unfair advantage when it comes to losing weight and body fat percentage...
I was pulling for Julie or Isabeau the whole time. Yeah I agree it is hard when men and women are competing against each other. They all looked amazing and I'm soooo jealous.
Did anyone notice that the twin not in the finals had a better percentage then the one who one? I wonder if they'll split their winnings evenly.

Yes, but Jim (the twin not in the finals) started out 27 lbs higher than his brother Bill sooo........ In the end Bill's final weight was 5 lbs lighter than Jim's (170 vs. 175).

That is the problem with this show - the people who have the most to lose are usually the winners.
Yeah, I wish there was some way to either have people weigh the exact same amount with the same body fat percentage to start, or something like that.

And I feel like a mean person for saying that Julie must be short because she could still lose some weight. I really meant that 120 is a low weight!

And Isabeau's name bugged me, so I could never get on her side

LOL I know what you mean though. I thought the same thing about Kae. That it was great that she lost the weight and she looked better BUT because she was so short she still looked dumpy to me. Of course that is my problem too - at 5'3" and being big boned I always look dumpy even when I am wearing a size 6.

 My sister-in-law hated the name too - she kept calling her Isa-boo, because she couldn't remember what the heck it was.

I'm 5'3" too! So I know what you mean! Every pound makes a difference...Actually, if you must know, I'm 5'3 1/2"!!
