My No Good,Terrible, Rotten Day

The first day back at school was uneventful, the children were only there for 1 hour and I really enjoyed seeing them all.

Second day which would be a full day, I arose at 5:30 am in order to get all the pets fed, watered and toileted before I prepared for work. Have 21 of the furballs so it's always hectic in the mornings.

On your mark, get set....GOOOOO ! All the critters rush to their "feeding rooms" as soon as I bring out the tubs of food. I am standing by the coffee maker to prepare my first cup. I see a white bunny hopping in the yard. Take a second look...another bunny!!

NOOO I had yet built another extension to Extreme bunny home so that now it's aprox 40 feet in length but decided NOT to place the last post in concrete but gravel instead. One side houses the little bunnies the other the recent rescues..big bunnies..5 of them.

Little buggers got out and were doing binkies around the yard. Binkies is a true word of bunnies happiness where they kick up their heels and jump for joy and race around. It was a site to see...bunnies binking in the yard!

Mean me had to put a stop to that as too many dangers from hawks and other predators to leave white bunnies in my yard while at work. Also meant keeping dogs in the house while I went on bunny roundup.

My neighbors probably looked out and saw "crazy lady" in her PJ's at 6 am racing around with the tops of portable cages trying to place them on top of buns. Egads!! Difficult to do roundup on one's own!!

Next transferred one at a time to temp pen (no time to fix the big one as now it was 7:30 when they were all caught). What to do?

Dogs needed out for toilet, needed to transfer feral kittens from foster cat room to place bunnies and had to look for a place for kittens. Rounding up feral kittens was another story. :?

8 am the time I'm supposed to leave, I'm huffing and puffing, realize I've stepped on something in the yard and have now left footprints all over the house. EWWW!

I grab the lunch I had prepared the previous evening - just crackers, granola bars and dry goods to keep at school. Lunch time I open the bag to discover I have "hardware" for my doors in the bag. Wrong bag..groan. One of the children I work with who has autism laughs and says "great lunch if you were an android" hee hee. :D

I drive home on a busy street, heavy traffic, BAM!!! I get hit by someone that came flying out of a side street onto oncoming traffic. Urg! Her BMW is totalled, my van has a big dent on the side. I am so thankful that children crossing the road weren't hurt as she was blocking the crosswalk and I suspect she meant to back up when her car raced forward, zooming in front of them and hit me.

In all my years of driving I had never been in a accident but for the last 6 wks. (I was stationary and someone rear ended me 6 wks ago) A mere 2 days after I got my new/ole van and now this!!!!

I arrive home and did what any sane person would do under the circumstances. Worry? No way! I took a nap ...needed it. 8O

Oh! My........

Poor you..  .......I'm glad there were no inujuries ( except your van).

It seems that some days are just meant to be forgotten.....Here's hoping next week starts better than the end of this one.
This would have been a day that you should have slept in and not have gone to work.
Wow, what a day! Glad it's over.
Did you get hurt in the accident?
So sorry Marianne; at least there was no fly in your coffee. I do hope the BMW driver takes care of your van for you.
oh my gosh- I do not envy you for having to round up happy bunnies and then feral cats at 6am!

I'm sorry about your van too :(
Oh my goodness, i am so glad to hear you weren't hurt! I know it was probably not a lot of fun chasing those bunnies around, but it sure does sound cute :)
Geez, what a crummy day. Glad you weren't hurt! (I think maybe you should trade your van in...) 8O

Or go visit Brenda in Nova Scotia... Wait! Maybe it's not Brenda, maybe it's any van in Canada?
Yep Marianne, that is one really crappy day! 8O You are lucky not to get hurt. I hope the other person has to fix your van.

Maybe get out the other side of the bed on Monday?
Holy Moly!!! What a day! Poor thing!
OMG! 8O yikes, Marianne....what an awful day!

The "Binkies" sound cute though
Wow that sounds stressful! Love the comment about your lunch.
Well on the grand scheme of things that can happen in life, the events caused me to chuckle the next day.

I had luckily laid out my clothes the previous evening (normally never do that) and so looked quite "put together" that morning...so had lots of comments about how well organized I am. Ha!!! They are all fooled! I just smiled and thought if you only knew!

George, I think I would have appreciated a fly in my coffee! The extra protein would have been helpful! :excited:

Marianne
I'm glad you're ok! Maybe with your new run of bad luck with the vans, you need to switch to those armored vehicles like the president uses.
8O Oh my goodness! Marianne, Would it help to sprinkle holy water on the van or have it exorcized? It sounds possessed! Glad you`re all right. I`m still in Quebec and will call when I get home! Take care. Love the bunnystory! :ghug:
Just heaps of these :ghug:

Yep sounds like the Van is Possessed 8O
Van are evil.......Glad you weren't hurt.
Thanks everyone for the comments!

Sigh I'm starting to think that van is bad luck!

She totalled her BMW - poor thing! OOps did I just say that outloud? Teach her to press on the gas instead of reverse and come flying out into a major street during rush hour????? Still again on the grand scheme of things ...she narrowly missed the children crossing the street and got me instead. Glad it was my van and not the kids. So perhaps my van isn't cursed but a white metallic angel!!!

Actually my neck and ribs are aching so off to get x-rays today via doctors orders. Sheesh I just got back to work too...grumble grumble..
Wow - that sounds like a very stressful day! Bless your heart. I got a good laugh out of the lunch story, though. That little boy is very clever.

Hope your x-rays are good and you're not suffering any damage from the accident.
