Temper Pedic Bed

Has anyone ordered their Temper Pedic through the actual company, which offers a 4 month free trial period? I want to know if they actually honor that "no questions asked" policy. I asked a rep about the "heat" factor of the mattress. I was told it's mainly when people use a mattress pad that does not come with the bed. Regular box springs mattresses are just not comfortable for me anymore, and I wanted to try the Temper Pedic...but only if the company honors their pledge. Thanks.

I bought one a year ago from Back to Bed--I don't know if that's a local or national chain. They offer the same guarantee and my brother, who works for Back to Bed, has said people have returned the beds with absolutely no problem. From what I've heard, you either love the bed or hate it. I love my TemperPedic--I will never give it up! I get hot flashes at night so if there is any heat from the bed, it doesn't bother me. In the winter, I use flannel sheets and a down comforter covered with a flannel duvet and I have no problem with excess heat.

My feeling is that company stands behind their product. I know there is a hotel chain that uses TemperPedics. I think it might be Doubletree (but I could be totally wrong). You could spend a night at a hotel that has the beds as a "test run."
Ooohhh...

I love those mattresses. We tried some out at slumberland, and they were amazing. If not for the 2k price tag, I'd have bought one on the spot. Instead, we're going to have to order a second (clearenced out mattress) off e-bay. i can't wait till we can get it though!!!

If you're concerned about liking it though, definietly talk to a local retailer about their return policy. It may be easier to work with a local retailer, then the company directly. And also, the sales people are usually knowledgable about the warranties and such!

$2K? They make a $7K one now that we were looking at (which we also did not get!). I thought it was nice but not $7K nice!
OMG! 8O $7,000 for a MATTRESS????? Holy buckets! Geez, I'll be lucky to be able to shell out the $500.00 for the clearenced one! I wouldn't even spend 7k (if we had it) on a BED let alone just a mattress. Heck, that's building a garage money right there! What in heavens name makes them think it's worth 7k?
The $7K model is adjustable. My feeling is stick a pillow behind yo uto sit up and save $5K.

I bought the queen-size middle of the line mattress and box spring (you have to buy the box spring for the guarantee to be valid) and spent a little over $2.5K. I took advantage of their 12 month free financing and paid the thing off in 6 months.
BE VERY CAREFUL WHERE YOU BUY YOUR MATTRESSES.

It is legal in some states to resell those returned mattresses as new; also some less-than-scrupulous mattress folk even pick up discarded mattresses off the street and just recover them and sell them!!!

We saw a story about this on our local news. It was really gross.

We have a Temper Pedic and love ours too. The best thing about it is that another person moves in the bed, you can't even feel it. The thing I haven't figured out is how long these mattresses last. We've had ours since 2001.
Several bedding stores in our area carry the Temper Pedic, so I think they are becoming more available. You can also "test drive" in the store if you don't mind people looking at you! :D My experience, test drive, felt very good initially, but in 20-30 min. I found I could not turn over. I have some osteoarthritis in my back, so that was a major concern for me. We didn't buy, therefore I don't know if I would have adapted or not. Hope you can find somewhere to try it out before purchasing.
