Update on Poor Taylor

I called the Vet this morning because I was concerned about Taylor. He is still not eating well...we are down to hand feeding him a handful of food, piece by piece. He threw up yesterday and this morning. The vet called me back at work and I explained the situation and he wants me to bring him in before 4:00, he is booked solid after that. I work until 3:30 and they don't look kindly at people leaving early. I told my boss I have a family emergency and I AM leaving at 2:45. Taylor is family and he is sick and I have to take care of him. I get to the vets office by 3:30 and he checks Taylor over, he is running a temp and is slightly dehydrated and he is down to 68lbs(he was 73lbs) and has to stay overnight at the vets and maybe longer. :( He wants to get an x-ray of his abdomen and check his blood work again, hydrate him and see if he can get him to eat. I'll get an update in the morning. My poor boy!

I don't want to scare you, but Hannah survived pancreatitus with pancreas levels that most dogs do not survive.

She was at the vet for almost a week on IV's almost the entire time. It is an extremely serious condition that your dog can die from if not given proper treatment immediately.

At the time it happened to Hannah I didn't understand the seriousness of it and hopefully you can learn from us since we were very very lucky not to mention Hannah is a tough fighter sheepie.

Good luck! We will be praying for you! At the time Lisaoes and Batonrougesheepies found valuable info for us that is in the thread I will try to find the thread for you to look at.
Here's the link for you that has the very informative info about pancreatitus.

I hope Taylor is doing well today. I totally agree with calling in sick for him. I even did that once for a sheep in labor that I couldn't leave..
