Well our blue found the kitty box today not once but twice, it is now in a new spot. I heard scratch, scratch and then faster faster not one of the CATS it sounded like to much fun, went to take a look and there was Blue digging two paws just a givener. Thaaaaaank god it was clean, I think he was digging for nuggets. And I swear this puppy can smile. So I cleaned it up went to put everything away and THEN Twisted Evil yes again. This time box moved mad and upset sheepie puppy for getting in trouble and taking his fun away. It was an ahhh shucks you take everything fun away, bounce sheets, paper towel, full water bottles, dead mice EVERYTHING.
Make sure that kitty litter is untouchable. My last OES got a real upset tummy because of eating out of the box. Mine is totally unreachable now...cats can barelt get to it. LOL
yup thats what i did. He never did get anything to eat. Just cleaned it, but boy I think he was digging to china, first flower pot then that, Hmmm I think I am going to have a digger.
Yeah, some dogs just love cat crunchies and I don't think there's anything else you can do other than make sure they have no access.
Nigel likes to grab water bottles and dryer sheets too. Thank God we haven't had any dead mice lately!!! The cats have been lazy.
Our trainer actually suggested sprinkling meat tenderizer on the kitty food. For some reason then, when they poop it out, it is less appetizing (yucky!) to the dogs.
I face our litterbox to the wall in a corner. Fully grown, yuki cannot maneuver herself in a way she can get into it. Plus, it reduces the amount of litter kicked outside the box.
I would like to have a boxed covered box but my cat is 26 lbs and can not fit in the door.

Haa! My cat is humongous too, but we have an enclosed litter box. An enclosed sandbox would probably be more appropriate, but it seems to work. I think we found ours at petsmart.

Do you think the swinging plastic door will keep the dog out?
Ours is up on a ledge, about 4 feet off the ground. The cat can get up, but the dogs are kept away.
