Poor Taylor..No not Simon too.

At my house, all is not well. Last Monday, Taylor(golden) started to limp. This is not a first as Simon tackles him or jumps on him or just sends him flying all the time. Poor Taylor. I try to protect him as much as possible but Simon is faster then I am. Poor Taylor is just shy of 11yo and has started to loose strength in his back legs, but the limping is, was left front. Last Wednesday, when Randy fed the dogs breakfast, Taylor didn't want to eat 8O. Mark this day as its a first. He usually dives in and doesn't come out until its all gone. Call the Vet and take him in and the Vet checks him and takes X-rays, and its the joint just below the shoulder bone. He gives us steroids and some pain pills after the steroids are gone. Well the limp is gone but poor Taylor is still not eating right. This morning, with encouragement he ate about half a cup of food. I called the vet and they can "squeeze" us in about 3:00. About 2hrs later I notice Simon is licking around his hinder(between his legs just behind his penis) alot. Pick up his leg, look, don't see anything, touch and Simon jumps. I think maybe he has a burr cought in his hair. The phone rings, its Randy, and I tell him about a flying sheepie. Simon jumped a four foot wall this morning chasing a squirrel. I notice Simon licking again and lift his leg, look and see a spot of blood. See ya Randy, gotta check this closer. With a flashlight, I look closer and notice a red sore. Tried to split the hair to get a good look but Simon will have none of that. Call the vet and explain and is it possible to bring Simon in too . With much reluctants(sp) they agreed. Now all I need is for something to happen to the cat and it will be a family party at the vets!

Oh no :( Well, I hope the dogs are okay. You'll have to tell us how the vet visit goes. I always feel bad for older dogs b/c I just hate seeing them in pain. *crossing fingers for ya*
I am sorry   ------ I hope that Tayor and Simon check out OK......

Let us know the outcome...
Oh dear...double trouble. :( Hope it's nothing too serious for either one of them. Keep us posted. :)
I've got my fingers crossed for you all!
Oh my, I hope all goes well this afternoon.
Taylor is such a sweetie, I hate to think he's having problems.

Now Simon is boo boo-ed too! Do you think he scraped himself jumping the wall?

:hearts: to your boys.
fingers are crossed....keep us informed!!
Oh, the poor boys! I hope they feel better soon! :ghug:

A flying sheepie, huh? We definitely need a video of that!!
poor guy don't you just want to take their pain away
I hope they will both be okay. :( When it rains, it pours.
Any updates on the boys?
Poor guys have you heard anything yet?
Fingers crossed here too!
Simon First: he's really easy. He has two puncture wounds on his scrotum or what used to be there. They are weeping and are infected. No idea HOW they got there and in the end it really doesn't matter. He was not easy in the vets office though. Had to turn him on his side to see what was going on. NO easy feat. Me and one of the office techs held him while the vet examined him. He knocked my glasses off my face and they pretty much are bent. Now Taylor is a whole other matter. The only idea the vet could come up with is "maybe" the pain pills are upsetting his stomach. They took blood and gave us some stuff to help calm his stomach. The vet will call with the blood results in the morning. I did take them to the dog park this evening, Simon to run, run, run and Taylor to walk. Taylor likes to chase balls but I made sure there was none of that, even though he barked and begged. He got bumped by one of the dogs there and suddenly he was limping again. I massaged his shoulder for about five minutes and he was fine again. Thank you everyone for your concern, it helps to "talk" things out.
Poor boys. Simon's sounds painful too! I bet he was not thrilled having things poked around down there, especially when it was sore.

I hope Taylor's stomach settles and he can take the meds he needs to feel better.
