Trim it off, tie it in a top knot or use a slide clip, which ever you prefer, so your sheepie can see.
I think it is OK to do it whichever way make you happiest! :D

The can have their hair over ther eyes, but they do tend to net see everything perfectly clear, or you can trim it off, or tie it up.

I know we've had heated discussions on the board here about whether or not to let the fall hang over the eyes.

There's no doubt in my mind that they can barely see with hair in front of their eyes. I've watched our dogs run into walls, tables, etc., not to mention that they have pretty much run into me at full speed at times almost knocking me over.
We were on a walk the other day and Dixie ran into a HUGE boulder on the side of the road.....Mind you, it was dark out.....It was bigger than her whole body....I heard a sharp THUNK...and she almost fell over..!
I ALWAYS keep Tasker's hair out of his eyes. Just recently it has fallen below eye level and has caused quite a problem. This morning we were out side and he ran full tilt into the side of the car, knocked hiim silly for a moment. This weekend I plan to get the clippers out and take care of it.
Rags gets super evil if she can't see.
I wonder if Stella's snapping at people on our camping trip might have had something to do with her hair being in her eyes? Is that what you mean by Rags gets evil?
She gets very confused. Like if I drop something off the counter and she can't see it, she automatically assumes it's food and will pounce on any of the other dogs that happen to be there. I think her not being able to see upsets her and she is just very grumpy towards everyone. She has a hard time recognizing people she knows too. Until they are up close and she can smell them.
On Loony Tunes, I thought it was part of the OES' (Sam? Ralph?) ploy to catch the wolf in the act, since the wolf thought he couldn't see but really he could.

In real life though, I guess they can't see. I plan to keep that part of the hair trimmed.

This topic reminds me of that part of Edward Scissorhands when he snips the hair out of the dog's (oes) eyes while they're sitting on the curb! The OES looked much happier afterwards and walked away. :)
Added Question...............

Heart has "hair sprouts" at the corner of her eyes on the sides of her nose..That are growing directly sideways in her line of vision......It drives me CRAZY

----I WANT TO CUT THEM.........but I don't------

Maybe a little hair gel to keep the whispies down??? (only kidding)

Any suggestions?????
With Rags I now shave the hair between her eyes. Just one swipe of the clippers.

If you are planning on keeping her in full coat it will eventually get long enough to use a hair clip or pony tail holder.
Here is a picture of her hair up. She hates having anything in her hair though and pulled it out.

If your going to show heart then don't cut them, once you start you have to continually keep cutting them then. As they grow back it continually fans out over the eyes. I use to get a little comb, dip it in water and just part the coat at the top of the muzzle under the eyes to train it to hang either side of the muzzle as it gets longer. When slightly longer then two little rubber bands one above each eye till long enough later for one top knot or a slide clip.

This is brie at that stage, wild hair happening around the eyes. 8O

Now all sitting nicely.

It's a wild fluff out stage but it does get better as you get length there

I've cut Clyde's forever for the same reason. Now, at almost 3 years old, for the first time, I'm holding back and we're growing them out. It makes me cringe-- they're right in his eyes but I want it to grow so it'll go in the rest of topknot. I need a support group!
HI EVERYONE THANKS FOR ALL THE FEEDBACK.I GOING TO JOIN NEW MOM JAN TO HAPPY BERNARD FRANKS[/url]
Thanks from me too...

I have promised I will not touch her coat until she is 6 months old. So I will take all the advice and start trying to train her hair, along with her manners ( ) and eventually put her hair up in piggytails.

lisaoes--

Brie is gorgeous at every stage
!!!! :yay:
Put your hair in front of your eyes or if your hair in not long enough use someone else's hair(LOL). Can you see?
