Suckie TV

Ok....rant time!

Is anyone else as fed up with the TV as I am? I swear, there is nothing worth watching anymore!!!

Oh...I sorta take that back. There are two shows that I like (Damages and Mad Men) but I have to DVR them, and then watch them when I work out.

But, for the most part....I'M BORED AND SICK OF IT!!! I need some entertainment!!!!! I NEED TO BE AMUSED!!!!

The Law and Order returns aren't even satisfing me anymore :( !!!!!

(Rant over...and out ... :sidestep: )

There is some good summer tv on cable channels...but it is kind of late in the season to get into them. Some that Melissa and I watch are The Closer, My Boys, Eureka, Greek, Burn Notice, Monk and Psych. If you get BBCA they have a lot of great shows too. Their "season's" are much shorter and much more action packed than American shows. We tend to draw everything out much longer to take advantage of the ratings  ...you know everything is about the money
SUCKIE SUMMER SLOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hatge summer TV!! It's all reality and reruns. I do like the summer drama "The Closer" and have really enjoyed "army Wives". But they are both comoing to a close so for the next 2-3 months (has anyone noticed the "fall" tv seson is starting later and later) there won't be anything good on.

I suggest joining Net Flix for awhile.
Dancing with the Stars should start soon? Well I don't know when it starts, but the cast is out..

Mark Cuban (Dallas Mavericks owner)
Giselle Bundchen (#1 Victoria Secret model)
Wayne Newton
Jennie Garth from 90210
Aaron Carter (pimple faced teen singer/punk/brother of a Backstreet Boy),
Jane Seymour (Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman)
Tori Spelling (90210)
Lou Ferigno (the Hulk)
Nia Peeples, Helio Castroneves, and Sabrina Bryan, and Richard Quest

Have no idea who the last few are...

Then House starts up in September.
Biggest Loser
WAYNE NEWTON???????

8O
Haven't watched tv in months... fall is here though so new shows and new episodes of the good ones will be on soon :) Can't wait for House! :)
I SO AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It sucks, even the cable shows play the same movie at least 7 times in one week. The only thing are the reruns of MASH. But even now I am tired of them.
I agree for the most part. Once so you think you can dance was over, there wasn't much to watch! I don't understand either...people tend to have more time in summer to watch tv, so you'd think that they'd want to have better shows on.

Ohhh, the dancing with the stars cast sounds interesting! I don't know who the last few people are either--although I think Nia Peeples was an MTV VJ in the 80s? That's so fun that Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling are both going to be on. Wow--that's a lot of 90210ers to have been on the show (steve sanders was on last season or the season before)!

Lately I've been watching Design Star, The Hills, and Survivorman...random mix!
I've been watching FOOTBALL, Big Brother (of course!!) and Last Comic Standing. Other than that, the fall semester has started, so I've been busy with that. Not that football doesn't take up a lot of my time. :D

I'm interested in how Kid Nation will play out, but only b/c they keep shoving it down your throat (every commercial break for Big brother).

I don't understand how parents agreed to let their young kids do that. I hear the age range is around 8-15. Depending on how the show really is (previews can be deceiving), it seems irresponsible to let them. No way my 8 yo would be allowed to run wild with only the supervision of the cameramen/producers.

I saw the new pic for the Bachelor too, from TX, so I look forward to that starting.

Eureka rocks. We also love Entourage on HBO. Other than that, there's nothing to watch. My husband watched hours of Star Trek Enterprise reruns last night while I was scrapbooking in the other room.
we are down to entourage, big love and rescue me...

YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are really scrapping bottom!!!! I usually LOVE DWTS!!!!

I love Jane Seymour but she's "gettin' on in years: Tori Spelling is an IDIOT. Lou Ferigno  WAYNE FREAKIN NEWTON??????????????????
I'm addicted to Ice Road Truckers ... let me rephrase that... I'm addicted to the show called Ice Road Truckers. I am not sure why, but I just LOVE that show. I also loved Deadliest Catch.

Wow, I had the opposite opinion. Seems like their cast gets bigger and bigger each season.
Well, I guess that given the time and taping requirements they do need to get stars taht aren't actively involved in a series.
Every now and then, I can find a show on SciFi called Ghost Hunters. Its pretty fun, but I can't always find it.

Also...Mythbusters can be fun, but they are in reruns now, too.
I like Mythbusters.
I think the only thing I've watched this summer is House Hunters on HGTV. Summer TV is boring. :|
Maybe they can get stars to come on because that don't make them look like idiots when they lose?

(I wouldn't know, I don't watch that show)

Be careful....Joan and I went out of our way to see Wayne Newton when he was appearing near here. It was the second concert I've been to in my life. In fact, it was a present from Joan to me because I wanted to see his show before he retired. LOL

The show was only OK, I don't need to see it again. The audience wasn't a good one and kind of dragged the show down.
I've been watching Entourage, Flight of the Concords, the Hills, and football (cannot wait for regular season!)

My roommate are currently complaining that nothing good is on right now

I loved Ice Road Truckers. Too bad the season is over. :(
Hubby seems to be watching Law and Order or CSI reruns every night.

It's impossible not to watch Law and Order every night. I think you'll find it on some channel at any given time of the day!

We watch Big Love and Entourage together. I love a Model Life and What Not to Wear. A Model Life is done next week though. :( But, all my fall stuff starts soon. I can't wait for Heroes and Lost!
Lost doesn't start for another million months :(
I can't wait!!!!!

Ahhh how could I forget my two favorites! I have a date with Walter every Friday night and we watch both of these and then fall asleep watching Conan.

Who do you think theyre going to give modeling contracts to? I'm guessing not Bea, Abby or Michelle. I'm hoping they don't give one to Angelika either, that girl needs her ego deflated.
Oh I forgot. Ilove Alton Browns new ashfault show. It has a bundle of info and he is so goog..
I always wath the food network, but many are repeats too.
My (22 year old) son LOVES Alton Brown! In fact, last week he went to Nashville to hear Alton speak.

I'm kinda excited about Tim Gunn's new show. I think its a take on What Not to Wear, which I also love.

But I swear I WILL NOT GET HOOKED ON AMERICAN IDOL THIS YEAR...
HONEST..well, maybe, honest :)
OK, I admit I'm a Mythbusters junkie, a Dirty Jobs junkie, Alton Brown junkie, The Closer, Kyra Sedgwick's show....?? and have become mildly interested in Saving Grace but only when she is NOT getting nekkid and jumping every guy in sight! She grabs a guy and the channel is changed. Prude? No, I just don't have to or want to watch that.

I love Lucia and I hope it's her. There's something so sweet about her and her face, to me, is just flawless. I hate that they want her to lose weight when she looks perfect but I understand the industry. If they don't pick her, I think it'll be Valeria.

I think Angelika's attitude is going to hurt her. I had no idea Bea was only 16 until that last episode-- that may explain why she's not "getting it" as easily as she should. She's a pretty girl but she does stink as a model. Michelle is almost too editorial and I find Abby forgettable, but she's cute and has a good attitude.
Oh yeah...I totally forgot to mention What Not To Wear. I think I've seen every episode made. :D
When I'm shopping with my Mom, we'll pick up a piece of clothing and ask one another "What would Stacy & Clinton think of this?"
I am SO with you! I hate that we're paying for cable, that shows nothing!
It's bundled with our phone bill, so we'll never cut it off.
My husband is a Mash fanatic (wouldn't even name the baby Sophie, "you know , Col. Potter's horse!!!) and I could watch Everybody Loves Raymond every night. We like Little Peole in a big World. But that's not much when you're paying big $$$$$$

I'm afraid to watch that show for fear I might see them flashing a random picture of me up there..."See this lady we saw shopping in downtown Indy? Now THIS is a prime example of what NOT to wear...."

My clothes aren't too tight or in bad taste really... they're just old... I have this guilt about buying new clothes for me when I don't grow out of them because my kids always have something they are growing out of that needs to be replaced first.
I just love Everybody loves Raymond and King of Queens. Can watch it every day.

Maybe you should start wearing the strangest and most inappropriate clothes you can find, then we'll call Stacy & Clinton about you, and then you'll get a free $5000 shopping spree!
I am thankful for "on Demand". I LOVE Showtime's Meadowlands & Dexter!. I watch Gene simmons, Big Love, Closer, John from Cincinatti, bill maher.
Can't wait for Curb Your Enthusiasm to start in sept!
My absolute Favorite show I LOVE, LOVE Keith Olbermann!!!!!!!!
:hearts:
Court TV live trials are wonderful, but they are slowly eliminating trials for crappy crash & burn type shows

Ron, I would rather have root canal then listen to Wayne Newton, YIKES! 8O
Melanie Brown (scary spice from uh.. spice girls) Marie Osmond will be on Dancing with the Stars too.

edit: I have no idea where the person that posted the Dancing w/the Stars cast from another place got their info.

This is what I got from a news article:

This year's 12 contestants are Seymour, super model Albert Reed, Cheetah Girl Sabrina Bryan, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, actress-model Josie Maran, king of Las Vegas Wayne Newton, entertainer Marie Osmond, boxer Floyd Mayweather, Spice Girl Melanie Brown, racing champ Helio Castroneves, actress Jenni Garth, and actor Cameron Mathison.

I don't see my favorite Giselle :( I like my original list more.
