Hurricane Ivan

Yesterday was pretty rough. Our power went out about nine in the morning and came back on about lunch time today. We were very lucky, though. No damage to the house except for a leaky roof, and a few missing shingles. One of huge hickory nut trees in the front yard fell, but missed the house, the pool, and the swing. How I do not know. Albert has enjoyed digging in the huge hole it left, bless his heart he got so stir crazy yesterday, but has been running free all day today. Thank God the damage was minimal, and hey we'll have LOTS of firewood for the winter

Betty did yall have any damage?

Hi All,

I just wanted to say to all those who have been affected by the hurricanes this year- my heartfelt prayers and thoughts are with all of you! Albert's Mommy- I'm so releived to hear all is ok with you!! Looks like your sheepy has the right idea- finding the good (Look mom- the perfect digging spot!!) out of the wreckage. We here in the north have nothing that can compare- straight line winds and tornadoes, but nothing like Ivan!! You are all on my mind- and I truly hope all is well with everyone! Big hugs and prayers from MN!

Karen :)

totally agree with this post! we keep watching it on the news - my sentiments exactly - stay safe
We were lucky also. We managed to not lose power or any trees. Needless to say Pud was a muddy mess for a couple of days though. He doesn't have to have the excuse of a tree down to make a new hole.

Albert's Mom, I am glad all is well with you. I had meant to post earlier, but I managed to get sick the day before Ivan hit. Thank goodness we did not lose power, as I was not able to do the "emergency" preparations that we were warned to do.

Our hunting camp did manage to lose several trees, but thank goodness none of them managed to hit the house. We have had to do some serious cooking though, as we did lose power there.
