Fringe Benefits of Helping With Rescue

Last night Clyde and I went on a home visit for a family looking to adopt the OES girl in Livonia, Michigan. Clyde really knows how to turn on the charm for home visits. He's on his best behavior, is very attentive to the people and plays with any toy they want him to play with-- even if it's something he doesn't normally like at home. It's almost like he knows he's an OES spokesman so he has to make a good impression!

Anyway, the visit went great, the people were cool and everything should, hopefully, work out great. But check this out (and this is where the benefits come in), the couple's grown son works for Kong. They pulled out this monster box of brand new Kong samples and they sent us home with a few big Kongs, a couple of Kong balls and a tug toy. How cool is that? Not only for us, but for the incoming dog, too!

See, helping always pays off somehow. :)

Cool! And I'm sure that little bribe, I mean, friendly gesture, will help their chances with getting their OES!
Wow!! Super cool - and Clyde is such a great spokes model for OES, he deserves a few KONG toys. :D

When he got home, he made sure Bear knew they were Clyde's toys and Clyde's toys only, too. He gathered all the ones that I gave him up and put him in his food bowl and ate around them so Bear couldn't have them. He's never mean about it, just a jerk!
Oh my gosh - that makes me laugh - and I can completely picture that scene.
Awesome, Clyde must have been so excited! That was so funny about putting them in his bowl.
My shelby does that with toys too, she has a collection under her bed.
Did you bring Bear a Kong?
Maybe the son wants to donate Kongs to Rescue (always thinking of ways to raise funds :)

Everybody got a Kong but the boys were most interested in the ball that has the little nubbies on it so it goes crazy when you toss it. Clyde loved that one so much that he brought it upstairs and slept with it, too. He wasn't taking any changes leaving it unattended, lol.
AWESOME! Clyde's my sheepie ambassador of the week.
Clyde is cracking me up with his toys! But hey he EARNED them so I guess he can do whatever he wants with them!
