As I read your message about your sweet Winston, I was taken back 4 years ago to when my Millie died at 14. I am so sorry that he is gone, and I know how sad you are feeling, but, in my mind, he is at Rainbow Bridge and like Millie, is now able to run and jump--- chase squirrels and lay in the sun by the lake and be a puppy again. | Bless Darling Winston, my first sheepie went in his sleep, always hard but at least you did not have to make a choice for your sweet boy. Shock it is but when you look back he gave you a gift there and let go peacefully at home.
Please know we are sending prayers and hugs to you and your family at this sad time. When the sadness subsides a little, wonderful Memories bloom as time goes by and they are forever in our hearts, they never really leave us. Sorry for your loss of your special boy. HUGS.... |

| Thank you all for your thoughts an prayers. It is very comforting and I am grateful. My Bella misses her buddy, but in May she was joined by her new little sister Rosa. I knew she would be devistated with out Winston, she is so co-dependent, so I bought a new puppy. Rosa is absolutely beautiful and a joy. I have a bunch of pictures on my camera, I have to figure out how to get them on this site.

| Oh Jo-Anne, I'm so so sorry you had to go through this. It's obvious Winston was dearly loved and while his passing brought you grief in his eyes he was able to pass in such a dignified way. To be with his people whom he clearly loved by his side.
In time you'll be able to share funny stories and photos of him when you're ready. I always felt my Shaggy's passing was was aboriginals refer to as a "good death". She too was under her favorite tree and surrounded by those who loved her and had a chance to say goodbye. While we wished they could be with us forever, sadly we usually outlive them but know they will live forever in our hearts and minds. Rest in peace Winston and perhaps you and Shaggy are touching noses at the bridge. Marianne |

| I'm very very sorry of your loss of Winston but it sounds he died where he wanted to die: at home, in your garden and you even carried him back in your house. You couldnt give him anything better than this!
I know you will miss him but at least you know you gave him a lovely home and he could die at home without pain. You never had to make a decision to put him down!
