Nipping at kids and me

I have a 5 month old male. I know he is a puppy and part of the herding breed, but in playfull biting normal?

Yes, playful biting is normal but should be discouraged. If you'll use the search tool at the top of the page, you'll find lots of helpful suggestions as to how to accomplish this.

while you are checking out sites, try this, this is what we did and she now runs around with a toy in her mouth. When he starts biting at you say NO then put a toy in his mouth. Our girl now runs, finds a toy and trys to play with the cat. She is now 10 months old and does not nip anymore. BUT now we have to watch our shoes. :roll:
