Hello from Colorado Springs, Colorado

My name is Courtney and I rescued a 5 year old OES female in March of 2007. She is the most amazing dog I have ever had and definitly a dream come true. I have dreamt of owning an OES since I was 6 years old so about 22 years now and thank you to someone who no longer had a need for her my dream has come true.

To make a long story short she just turned 5 on March 12th 2007 and I adopted her around March 26th 2007. She has already has 5 litters. She has now been fixed and you might be able to see where I am coming from when I say the lady no longer had a need for her.

I was told that she was aggressive with other dogs and small children and as far as I can tell she doesnt have an aggressive bone in her body. She made the first 70 mile car ride home in the backseat with her head resting gently on my 2 year old son's lap. She also lets him sit on her as if she were a couch and she will even trot him around the house as if she were his little pony...lol. Its really cute!

As far as the dog thing is well I have had around other dogs and no aggression there either. She either wants to play or mother them...lol.

Needless to say that is my story and the story of Lacy. I will post pictures soon.

Hope to talk to yall soon! Feel free to instant message me on yahoo if you would like.

Welcome Courtney and Lacy! Lacy sounds darling. I would love to see pictures of her with your son. I am very happy you found each other -- and that you found this forum!
Welcome aboard. Sounds like her previous mothering allowed her to take to your son immediately, "hmmm, this puppy walks funny......"

Can't wait to see her picture and hear more happy "tails".
Hi again!

Welcome from Minnesota to you Courtney and Lacy.

She looks like she is very happy in your home and fitting in with your family so well.
Welcome to the forum, Courtney, from Barney and Maggie in St. Louis. You rescueing a sheepdog in Colo. Spgs, reminds me of my son & DIL who in 2000 lived there and rescued an OES with a tail. We was working at Drury Inn and they had just bought a house when 9/11 hit and he was laid off when the tourist business there went south. They came to live with me for 2 years - it was my first exposure to and OES - sweet, lovable Maggie. Since then the got back on their feet. Now I have my own Maggie rescue (no tail) and her half brother Barney who I got as a pup. Both have their CD's - wonderful dogs.
