dog swallowed something

My Sami swallowed something not sure what. Hoping it is a jerky treat and scratched her throat. few hours ago she was trying to throw up. Now looks like she either wants to bring it up or swallowing hard to say. Looks sad, not her self when sleeping she seems ok beathing ok. Just acting like somethng in her throat but nothing happening. She will drink and ate a big bite dog food when I gave it to her. So that maks me think nothig is there but maybe sore? Any ideas what it could be or if I should do anything.

I don't have any suggestions, but I wanted to say that I sure hope Sami will be OK.
No ideas but just observe her over the next few hours, make sure she is pooping OK too. If it is still happening then off to the vets. I would not be feeding her anything at the moment, only letting her drink small amounts often till you can work out what has happened.

If it is continuing or getting worse then see the vet.

I hope all will be OK, one more thing has she been outside? Did she eat any grass? sometimes that has the same affect on them with wanting to vomitt. I have a cow sheepie that grazes on occassions.
How is Sami doing today? I would suggest keeping an eye on her to make sure she's pooping properly also. If you see any signs of straining and/or dry heaving, get her to the vet.
Any news on Sami? I hope all is well.

If you know for sure she swallowed something and is trying unsuccessfully to vomit over a course of time, not acting like herself and looking sad and depressed, its time to get to the Vet right away. Could be a blockage...I wouldn't feed her anything else either but I would be at the vet's office as soon as possible.
Here I go, this is what we think happened. Chicken terky treats from costco. When I was taking my other dog to the vets the only day he is town, otherwise 2 hour drive. I gave Sami one of those treats to sneak out of the house because they always go together. Well I think she swallowed the whole thing. Scratched her throat bad tummy for the nite. She did drink and played around last nite. She was restless and in the morning went out side and came in sneezing and none stop drowling watery nose soooooooo off for a 2 hour drive I was coming in no matter what. When she was awake she sneezed when sleeping fine. Got to the vet he checked her out temp and all AND of course she stopped sneezing. And was very GOOD  Even her face looked better. He tried to get her to throw up and nothing came out every thing else ok. So we got home and she sneezings  then it looked like she was laughing at me. She drank and ate a little. THEN i went out side to check on her poo which I did not in the morning I was out of the house to fast. It was lose, grass and BIG chucks of jerky after that I stopped looking. So in the end scratched throat bad tummy eating grass trying to throw up I think it was her worst day ever. Right how sleeping on the couch with her head on a pillow. I got a picture of that I'll post it later.
Glad you went to the vet. Her poor tummy must be so hurting  Maybe some light food like boiled chickn and rice for a day or so to calm her tummy down? Hope she feels better.
Glad all is OK now, NO more Turkey treats from costco.
Watered down food and yup no more treats.
Boiled rice at first and then add BOILED (to remove the fat) lean hamburger. That's usually best for a tender tummy.
She would not eat at all yesterday She cough it up, bits and pieces is all she had. I think her throat was sore. She is eating right now and doing good. Here is her pic after we got back into town. I crawl in there also to have a snuggle. Now she is almost 10 months Aug 9. And weights 50 lbs slender built, I thought she weight more until I shaved her down. When do they stop growing? Her mom was a slender built dog also, whom she is taking after and weight around 65 pounds.

What a darling, she still has a way to go in the growth side of things.

About 16 - 18 months for the full developement of the boning then they fill out more in the body.

Just keep her on a lighter diet too for a couple of days till things settle down, boiled lean beef mince or chicken fillet, no fat or skin there and rice then slowly bring back in her normal food by mixing the dry with rice/chicken or boiled lean beef mince.

Don't rush it when getting her back to her normal diet to not upset her sensitive system at the moment
thank you all for your help in the food area. Her throat is sore but she is doing very well. Acting like herself today. When I got home jumped up front paws on my shoulders, I have to say it was nice to be greeted that way once again.
Sami is back to her self keeps staring me down for her treats thou. She must still have a sore throat little cough/choke as if it dry usually in mornings and when she wants to bark. But besides that she is great.
:phew: I am so happy for the good outcome!
