First day back at work

Wow, I missed being able to check the forum today!
I went back to work today, I've been off since June 25th, when my kids were done school. I was kind of nervous, kind of excited, and kind of sad because summer is over, and it has been such a wonderful summer.
It was nice to see friends at work again though...
Even though my job is essentially a sit down job, at a computer all day, I am more sore than I thought I would be. I have been lounging in comfy clothes since my surgery, and just had the stitches out Thursday, so wearing regular dress pants was a bit of a challenge. LOL
I can't believe it is already almost 6pm, I got off work at 4, picked the kids up from school, took the dogs out, fed and watered the dogs, cats, guinea pigs, iguana, and kittens, got the kids a snack, helped the kids with homework, got the dishes done and the house swept, and now have to get a load of laundry in before we have a mountain. And I haven't even started supper yet! So, now I have to go make supper, do laundry, get the kids to shower and pick out their clothes for tomorrow, get them to bed, make lunches for tomorrow, then pick up my husband from work and get him something to eat, and maybe manage to watch some ER before bed! Whew! How did I do this before??? :?

I agree. Supermom is a perfect word.
I am sorry you are still sore, and having to go back to work. That doesn't sound like any fun. I hope this weekend you can lie back and relax. The kids can help out with the laundry and cleaning, or just leave it. You get some rest! Yes, that is an order. LOL I think the ER episodes will be ok for you.
I have felt like my head is spinning these first few weeks with the kids in school. I hope that you can find your pace of things soon. Stormi
Oh, I am sorry you are in pain, Willow!!!! It is getting better, right? Did the doc said all is well when he took the stiches out?? You sure are amazing! LOL Stormi, how is your little ones doing in school? Did you get to visit your Kinder.'s classroom? Yeah, I am back to work, and boy, its good that I like what I do! LOL I missed the kids and can't wait until I start teaching afterschool! Crazy, I know, but its the only chance I get to have a classroom of kids (I do small group Instruction for Speech) and I love it!
Hi Marley,

My kids are doing good. My daughter loves her teacher and has a few of her kindergarden friends and made new ones. Her birthday party was scheduled for Saturday, but with her being sick I have 22 children to get ahold of and reschedule for the next weekend. It is going to be difficult because CJ goes into shoulder surgery on Tuesday, the 21st and he is supposed to still be in a lot of pain when we have her party. Can you see me shaking my head in dismay? LOL I am already tired, and just thinking of more makes me more.
Joey is a different story, he has been very overwhelmed since the start of school. Since it has started he has colored a picture of a bird and a lamb. Other than that it is playtime. Which I am not too upset with, because I teach him at home with the Abeka curriculum. The other thing is there are a few boys that he says are being mean to him. He has gotten hurt a couple of times from the boys hitting, but I can't get the teacher to talk to me about any of it. I don't find out until he tells me at home. She seems like a nice lady, but is very stressed out it seems. I have a meeting set up with her next Thursday. I have a lot of questions. This is only pre-K, and he doesn't have to be there, but they are planning on starting full day kindergarten next year and I want him to be prepared academically as well as socially. Wow, I have rambled a bit too much haven't I. Sorry. I can get going sometimes. LOL
Stormi and co.
I am glad your little girl is doing better!!! Joey's experience is important. In our pre-k they learn a lot! And bullies are NOT tolerated!!! I guess you will find out more about what is going on on Thurdsay, but maybe you can transfer him to a different class? Cloloring two pictures in two-three weeks isn't impressive! I am sorry about CJ's surgery! It will all go well! And your daughter will have loads of fun at her party! Its too bad so much is on you, but i have learned that that is how it usually is. LOL Hand in there! And keep us updated! :D
Hey Stormi, are things going better for you guys now? I hope everyone is feeling better and things are settling for Joey!
I am feeling so overwhelmed and exhausted myself, I almost want to cry just because it is always time to do something, I feel like I am always running behind, and the kids and animals sense my stress and fatigue so they are stressed too. *sigh* I can't wait till Sunday. I'm going to stay in bed as late as possible!
I had digital cable and ultra high speed internet installed yesterday, (already had cable and high speed but was fed up with our service) and I realized how frustrated I really am when I went to check out the digital cable. I tried flipping through the channels and actually got upset that it takes so long to go from channel to channel! I was saying "Ugh! I don't have time for this!" LOL
Anyway, have to go make supper, even though I don't have a clue what to make.....
Stacey, how about some Degiorno Pizza! LOL I know I spelled it wrong, but its good stuff! 20 minutes, and dinner is done! LOL I know how you feel! I decided to do afterschool program, and ofcourse I got 6th grade class. All the kids who the teachers are afraid of, and everyone was walking around telling me how they feel for me, for getting such a rouph grade. So I was preparing like crazy for weeks! And now I have 25 kids in Afterschool!!!! Supposed to be 14-16. Yikes! There are kids in my class who are taller then I am! Geeeze! Anyway, preparation payed off and they are being really good for me! Thank GOD! All the behavior problems are in my room!
I wish things were getting better. Ashlan's fever keep's coming. That has never happened where she keeps getting sick and for this sick and for this long. This is only the 2nd antibiotic, but I am a natural worrier and this is worrying me a lot. Joey seem's to only feel really sick when it is night time. He seems to stay up and cough all night despite the medicine. CJ seems to stay in pain 24/7 even through all the pain meds. I feel very bad for him. Annabelle and Joey act like a magnet to his arm and continue bumping into it. I can't seem to keep the house clean from everyone being sick. I change the beds and one of the kids vomit on it and it is a never ending cycle.
On an up note though, we had parent/teacher meeting tonight. There are not too many things that make your day like being told how wonderful your children are. Ashlan's teacher is an amazing woman, she is going to get the class to read a positive book about wearing glasses to make Ash feel better about her new specs. She is also going to show Ashlan her glasses to try and make her feel more confident.
Joey's meeting went better than expected. I found out that all the school work was being saved for our meeting. So he has done work, and done it very well. :D She said he is doing great socially as well and hasn't been in trouble at all. I was relieved. LOL She also said that whenever she is having a bad day she just has to see Joey smile and he brightens the day. I bet I left the school actually glowing of Mommy pride.
So, this has been my day.
Hopefully we will start getting back in the swing of things again soon.
Stormi and co.
I am sooo glad to hear about the parent conferences!!! That is wonderful news! And I must say that teachers feel just as proud and happy with a parent who leaves their room glowing and proud of their little ones!!! I am like you, a worrier, so yeah, I would be upset about Ash too! How long has she been sick now? Your poor hubby! I feel for him! Let him know that we are sending positive vibes his way (~~~~~~~ ) and hope that he will heal quickly! Hang in there, Stormi! Its tough now, but when they all get better, you can relax and let them pamper you for a while! LOL Maybe go away for the weekend with CJ and just relax! In a nice jacuzzi!!!
