OES Grooming "Short Cut" Style?

Hello Guys,

I saw this pic of an OES groomed like a Miniture Schanuzer. This is the first time I saw this kind of grooming for an OES and they call the grooming "Short Cut" style.

What do you think of this? Pls click the link below and look on the OES at the left side.

thanks,
John

While I think all OES are cute, that is an...interesting cut. Whoever did it did know the cut well,it's just not a cut I'm used to.
Well, to each their own. But, IMO, Blah. I'd much rather see an OES with the traditional big poofy cut, or just shaved.
I don't like it at all. I'd get a Schnauzer if I wanted to have a cut like that, lol. I would also think having all the hair just loose on the bottom would mat like crazy and be a pain to only have to concentrate on that area. I'll take my OES as OES!
I have to say the truth: I dont like it! It doesnt look like an Old English Sheepdog anymore!!

Prefer the full hair or normal short or even shaved one!!
I much prefer the look of the dog on the left. . .
I am not a fan of the Schnauzer look on a Schnauzer, so I definitely am not a fan of it on an OES.
Hi, the very first time I ever got my sheepy groomed, I was walking down the street and some guy yells out the window - Hey is that a giant snawhzer? (don't know how to spell) I was like noooo. From that day on I always told the groomer to please don't make her like a snowzer. I don't care for that at all
I liked the dog on the left too!! When I had a schnauzer I never left the apron on (under the belly to easy to matt) I don't like the look on an OES
I think it's interesting to see one sheepdog with a tail and then one with a schnauzer cut -- both very unique.
sorry, but I LOL!
It looks like the groomer did a great job, and I think if you wanted to try out a new hair cut, have at it, but I like the traditional look myself.

We just told our groomer to quit cutting S'more's face so short when she's in that we want her to be fluffy and that the girls want her to have a pony tail!
Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope! :D

I agree with all who posted that if you want a Schnauzer-look, get a Schnauzer. I get so many questions about Oscar's breed as it is.......

That cut is just plain WRONG for an OES.
Maybe the groomer has a special on schnauzer cuts that day? On a schnauzer it would look great.

Or the groomer was drunk.
NO, NO, NO. Soooo wrong! I agree, that groomer must have been drunk.
lol....i dont like it either......the poor thing MUST have a personality complex disorder by now.. who am I? what am I? 8O
8O I've never seen anything like that!! 8O It looks a little odd on a sheepie! Where did you find the photo? Any idea what they were being awarded?

I think the award was for most schnauzer-like haircut on an OES. He won by a landslide.

:D Willoughby boards at a kennel in the Okanagan where the owners breed schnauzers. The first time they groomed him (including haircut) he had a sort of schanuzer look about his head but the rest of his coat was puppy cut length  . Since that time, he's had a short "do" all over with no repeat of the schnauzer head. I didn't say anything about it to them: they just figured it out.8)
shaved our sheepie today :( BUT my mother wanted to help (AND she does have 2 schnauzers and does a great job on them) But she also did my poodle once and she came home with a schnauzer cut. Soooo nope shaved it all before that.
That is one weird style for an OES
Just found this in a grooming magazine I've received recently (obviously not an OES, although I'm not sure what it really is!): http://www.groomertogroomer.com/Online_ ... dyHartness

Now, where's that "Guest" groomer who said it was cruel to shave down an OES? The pros are doing this just for kicks and giggles!
OMG!!!! 8O
Cute.
Looks like Raindrop - our llama!
That's just wrong! Poor dog will never be the same after the OES with the schnauzer cut gets done laughing his nub off..
