Lucy treated herself...

...literally. I've mentioned in previous posts that my naughty sheepie girl loves to find things to get into. I'm constantly looking in her mouth. Well, just a few minutes ago I heard a little clink and went to investigate. I met Lucy on my way and of course stopped her and looked in her mouth. She had a treat. I thought it was kind of weird but figured she must have had it stashed in her crate. I went into the kitchen and realized she had actually gotten a treat out of the treat jar. 8O

We have a glass treat jar with a metal lid that sits on the kitchen counter. I had not put the lid back on the jar so I guess Lucy figured it was a free for all. She had gotten on the counter, dropped the toy she had been carrying around next to the treat jar and stuck her big nose in and got herself a treat. Just one surprisingly (though I caught her going back a second time to see if she could pull it off again). She is such a little brat!! I'm amazed she managed to get a treat out without pulling the whole glass jar off and shattering it.

Lucy, Lucy, Lucy......you dont even need an Ethel
Those non-career criminals are always leaving clues at the crime scene.

Some day you'll tell stories like:

"I remember one guy left his wallet at the bank he robbed."
and
"I remember this one sheepdog who left a toy next to the rifled treat jar...."

Great story!
Wow, Lucy, you sly girl you. Makes you wander how many cookies she has taken from the platter, or brownies she's stolen from the plate...
That is too funny and too cute. As I was reading your post I could visualize one of my pups doing that. Too funny!
I have a feeling she and her brother used to work together to come up with moves like that because my mom called me with an identical story last week!

Also, the week before, when my mom first took him, I gave her a big container full of a bunch trial size packs of Merrick food that I take on trips with us. I put the little packets in the big plastic container, which has a lid that snaps on and can also fold halfway back to be able to reach in. My mom was working around the house and lost track of time-- apparently about 45 minutes after Max's dinner time. Max decided he'd had enough waiting, pried open the lid, pulled out one of the packages, found my mom in the bedroom and dropped it at her feet. He looked at her like, "Um, it's time for me to eat now!"
Rags has stolen glasses of milk without spilling the glass.
We have these tall, narrow glasses and she just sticks her tongue in the cup and starts to lap it out. She has never knocked over a glass yet.
She usually does this once Daddy falls asleep, since it is his milk.
I think you guyz are starving your dogs.
Sounds like she is a professional  , My GSD would steal my coffee, carry it to the back yard and drink it without spilling any
huurrrrrgh?
Lucy lucy lucy what a clever girl. Naughty but heck clever. 8)

Did I ever tell you about the sheepie here that stole some defrosting minced beef off the counter.

Gone, 8O hard as rock, nice doggie popsicle, all that was left was the tray and wrapper, we had people coming for dinner that night, take out that night, thanks to a certain sheepie girl.

Which one was the guilty party? the one with the meat covered beard.

Sheesh there good arnt they

Oh and a whole roasted chicken cooling on the bench for a picnic the next day to make salad and chicken buns with, bones and all and I was in a panick as all the chook gone, cooked bones as well. 8O At least the plate was on was nice and clean after. :?

I think they went hungry a lot before they were rescued.
That is too funny. I love a stealthy sheepie (I can say this as mine can't get on his back legs to surf the counter!)

My parents' sheepie Maggie is a counter surfer and she is VERY sneaky. We'd be having dinner in the dining room, which is right next to the kitchen, but out of sight of the counter, and Maggie would usually be sitting right at my dad's side (she's a daddy's girl). But every once in a while she'd sneak off without us noticing and we'd hear a little noise from the kitchen. We'd sneak in and find her, paws up on the counter, GENTLY removing a single piece of this, one of that...she was so good often we'd never know except we'd be like, weren't there 3 leftover chicken breasts, not 2?

Sounds like Drez has been giving lessons!!

Many years ago, friends of my inlaws had a GSD. The wife made a beautiful roast beef for dinner one Sunday, set the table placing the roast beef on a platter in the middle of the table and went back in the kitchen. The dog took a running leap over the table, grabbed the whole roast beef in its mouth, sailed over the other side of the table and ran outside. Never even touched a dish or a piece of silverware! 8O 8O
So Jill - your mom adopted Lucy's brother?? 8O

It was kind of a failed foster. I was waiting to say anything until I had pics. :)
