Mama's Boy

Pepsi has always been a Velcro dog. He used to have to join me in the bathroom for my nightly bath. He would stand guard at the door and make sure no drafty air got in.
He has stopped that and I am now allowed to take a bath without supervision.
Since his haircut a few weeks back he has insisted on sleeping with me.
I am okay with that, but it has now become lets see how much off my body I can fit on Mommy.
He is also crazy about sitting with me on the couch...even before the haircut. He has to have his head on me. Now if I try to get up and push him off, he claws at me. Also if I try to ignore him he pushes my arm up and resituates himself.
I may be a comfortable pillow for him, but an 80lb dog on my lap is not my idea of comfort.
To me, he seems to be overly clingy over the past couple of months.
Do you think he senses my stress and pain?

Oh, I think he can sense your feelings, no doubt! He is just trying to comfort you.

Sounds perfect to me, I would just eat it up if I were you! What a snuggle bunny.
it could be...or it could just be a phase....panda is weird like that too...for a while its velcro then for a while its hands off....id say enjoy it, but it IS a tad too hot for an 80 lb furball on you.....
He very well could sense that! How sweet. I hear many animals are like that!

How old is he again? My dog started to do that at 2, and I thought it was so weird that I took her to the vet.

Now I'm guessing she is just becoming an adult and this is the new and improved her.

Either way, I guess I'm thankful she's not on my "body" all the time like yours!! I get too annoyed with that now that it's hot out!!
Yes, it is way too hot to cuddle with him this time of year.
I :hearts: getting cuddles from him. Just not when it's 110 degrees out and the A/C is struggling to keep the house cool.
He is so funny though. He gives me this look when I change positions...like who said you could move? I was comfy. lol

Jo, he is 3 years old.

Rags is so different. With her it's like okay give me attention NOW!.... okay, happy now and she goes off.
Milo is always next to me. From the moment I come home he is at my side. When I leave in the morning, he lays at the door and waits. When I come home for lunch he is right where I left him, unless I find him on the forbidden red chaise). once i sit on the couch, he is up on top of me. I think he waits all day for that. But Milo is 120 lbs!!!! Once he gets up on me, I can not get him off!!! He plays dead weight!
My friend had a Maltese that acted like that when she had a miscarriage. It was really strange, like he knew what was happening before she did. I think our pets can sense many things like that. I even heard that there are doctors training dogs to sniff out cancer tumors. Now that to me is really cool.

When I miscarried (which happened 4 times, two while I had the cat) my cat knew before me. He would sit on my lap constantly, which was very unlike him. Normally he would come and say hi sit for a few minutes and leave.
Tonight I made him move over when I sat down on the couch, but he was right next to me. I glanced and him pet him for about a minute and then put my arm down. The next thing I know a paw is on my upper arm, nails extended as to grab and scratches lightly down my arm until I raise it. I put my hand on his head and he puts his paw down and I swore he smiled and then he sighed.
I am starting to think he is in love with me. Last week Billy and I were on the couch cuddling and watching TV. Pepsi was lying right by our heads. I gave Billy a kiss. Next thing I know Pepsi puts his face between ours. He starts kissing both of us and pushing us apart with his nose.
I am trying to figure out how you can be cuddling on the couch and Pepsi could be lying down and have his head between yours!!!

My mind has been racing!
We have a sectional, he was lying in the curved section, we were lying on the long section... He is usually head to head with Billy when I'm not on the couch.
Hi that is such a great story. He is in love with you  Sometimes Shamu comes up on the couch and tries to crawl inside me. I kinda like it when she does it. When I cry she talks to me in tha arreee voice.
Tasker is more of a "lay in the general vicinity" dog, Ty on the other hand is pure velcro. Which works out well since Ty is only 7 lbs!!! At night Ty sleeps in my arm pit (I sleep on my belly with my arms over my head). He snuggles into the "pit". If I move then so does he.
That's so cute hehe. :D Momo isn't allowed on the couch right now (mostly because there is no room hehe) but she is more of a leaning dog than a snuggler. She likes to sit next to me around the couch and lean her butt onto me.

My cats on the other hand... will snuggle with me or get under the covers even during the summer. XP They are so cute. <3
You know Elissa, I get the clawing too when I try and move away from Matisse....

Pepsi really really REAAALLLy loves his mommy!
