Their Baa is worse then their bite!! Thousands of Japanese have been swindled in a scam in which they were sold Australian and British sheep and told they were poodles. Flocks of sheep were marketed as fashionable accessories-available at $1600 AUD each by a company called "Poodles as Pets". A real poodle sells for twice that much in Japan. The scam was uncovered when japanese film star Maiko Kawakami went on a talk-show and wondered why her new pet would not bark or eat dog food. Hundreds of others got in touch with Police to say they feared their new "Poodle" was also a SHEEP. | Well, it is a funny story but I just looked it up on snopes and it's a false story. I guess it is good that people really aren't quite so...uh...gullible...as to think a sheep is a poodle!! http://www.snopes.com/critters/lurkers/poodlesheep.asp |
