I got them from a rescue contact in Kentucky. He takes in animals that need help and helps them get ready for adoption, and if no one adopts them, he does and they stay with him. He takes care of about 17 dogs. He is retired and those dogs are his life now and he is very happy with it.
I LIVE NEAR CINCINNATI AND AM INTERESTED IN RESCUE OR ADOPTING...PLEASE HELP....I HAVE ALWAYS OWNED AN OES AND CURRENTLY HAVE OLIVER!!

This hurts me so much but I have been looking at what you wrote here for a while and just could not bring myself to write back. I've had Shaggy now for 5 months and first he was going to be an inside dog but my daughter is allergic and i thought i could do it with keeping him outside but it hurst me looking at him. He is the sweetest dog ever but i am gone all day and a single mom with two little babies and it just hurts me to see him alone all the time. He is turned 5 months on July 6th had all his shots and I am willing to sell him to someone who will have time for him. If you are interested i am in Louisville, KY so please write to my email melisa78@insightbb.com if we talk a little longer maybe i will feel better about doing this.

Instead of looking as this as a bad thing, thank you for realizing what is best for Shaggy.
Did your contract specify that you must return Shaggy to the breeder if you could not keep him for any reason?
There are wonderful rescue groups in your area that do an excellent job of screening potential parents. And letting go of him as a young pup will help him find a home quicker than if he were older.
Shaggy Love- I'm sorry, I'm sure this is a tough decision to have to make. I applaud you for considering what is in Shaggy's best interest.

I don't know if you realized but the thread you posted under is over a year old and under grooming. (edit: moved by moderator) You might also consider joining the fourm so people are able to send you private messages about Shaggy.

I agree with "Mom of 3" --the rescue groups do a fabulous job of screening families and finding the perfect match for the dogs in their care. I would recommend you contact the OES Rescue Network of the Southeast (OESRNSE) at this website http://oesrescuenetwork.org or you can sent a PM to Maggie McGee IV (Nita) on this site. Nita does OES rescue in Indiana.

Best of luck!
If you got your dog from a breeder they should be able to take the him back there. If he was from a breeder have you contacted them?
It should be in your contract that you signed with the breeder, most breeders require you to return the dog to them, so they can make sure their dogs go to the right home.
You shouldn't feel bad about this, you don't have much control over the situation. Focusing on finding your dog a good home is the right thing to do. And it is true that any breeder contract would have a clause requiring you to return the dog if you are unable to keep it. Please contact Nita or another rescue group. Good luck.
