cleaning the refrig again! got me sick.

I had to call Cornell Univirsity, their co-op. They told me what to do. ANYTHING that had paper I had to toss, like the egg cartons ect. Butter wrappers. Take everything out of the refrig, turn it off and spray the whole inside with bleach. keep door open for 1 hour and then wash it out. Also wash every jar ect, toss milk carton evenplastic ones. The smell of so much bleach made me sick, I had all the windows open and a fan going.
Say a prayer it has worked NO MORE CLAMS in the refrig. for us.

You poor thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Poor Deana! I'm guessing no more clams for you for a while, huh?
I think it is ironic that you probably felt clammy when you were ill from the smell of the clams, or from the bleach trying to rid the clammy smell.

That's almost a tongue twister!
it was from the bleach!!!!
Poor Deana! :(

We were at the Grocery store this evening and it smelled as if someone has spilled bleach. My eyes got irritated and I gave very nauseous.

So did your hard work pay off?
Wow, that's horrendous. We had orange roughy tonight for dinner and I thought of all you went through.
PERFECT. The smell is gone
I will never again store clams in the refrig. I will use a cooler that I can toss.
Do you think you will EVER eat clams again?
yes we love them :D I have never had this happen before. I wounder what happened?
red tide
Ron, what is red tide?
According to Wikipedia:
"Red Tide" is a common name for a phenomenon known as an algal bloom, an event in which estuarine, marine, or fresh water algae accumulate rapidly in the water column, or "bloom". These algae, more specifically phytoplankton, are microscopic, single-celled protists, plant-like organisms that can form dense, visible patches near the water's surface. Certain species of phytoplankton contain photosynthetic pigments that vary in color from green to brown to red, and when the algae are present in high concentrations, the water appears to be discolored or murky, varying in color from white to almost black, normally being red or brown...
