Hopefully some of the florida folks will have suggestions for you. I would also ask your vet for referrals.

If you can't get any direct referrals, I would check the American Boarding Kennel Association to see if there are any accredited places near you. I saw one that is about 50 minutes -- a longish drive, but perhaps worth it for piece of mind:

Bass Pet Motel

This place found on google is a bit far but looks pretty nice -- gives you some idea of what's out there and has a good list of questions to ask.

Whether I find a place through referral, on the ABKA list, or just by googling, I always go visit and ask for a tour. Places can have beautiful pictures and horrendous cleaning habits. You need to go to see if they pick up and if it smells. I also like to see the actual enclosures -- are there any indoor/outdoor runs (means your dog can go potty at will), are there solid walls between the kennels or just cagelike fencing, are the dogs lined up across from each other or in rows. My view is that the more privacy there is, the more restful it will be.

I ask what the hours of staffing are, how often kennels are cleaned; whether and what times the dogs are let out to potty or tp play, is there air conditioning in the summer or heat in the winter; what kind of exercise/day care is available, how often they are fed; can you bring your own food, blankets, toys, whether there is a centrally monitored fire alarm; what the experience is of the people who run the place (any trained vet techs?). . .

Luckily, dog boarding places are getting better and better and there are lots of other options too, such as a petsitter who stays at your house.

I am sure you will find a great place to keep Einy safe and happy. You do need to spend time investigating though. Hopefully you will get some great leads here.

Good luck!
