My 4 yr old OES is vey intimidated by my new 10 month old Goldendoodle.
He had become shy and sometimes fearful. He submits to everything the new one does. He has lost some weight and seems sad. Should I worry? Is ther something I should be doing?
Thanks

My Merlin acted like that when we got Avalon. Avalon was 5 month old wild child. He wouldnt go near her for a while. Now they are inseparable
He didn't act any different when we got the rescue OES/wheaten Faith....somehow he knew she was timid and he took to her right away.
When I got Scarlet, she was just 9 weeks and Merlin again didn't want anything to do with her. She is now 21 weeks and I guess he has figured out she is here to stay.....he no longer growls when she comes near him and will actually initiate play with her.

Just give your OES time and make sure you still give him lots of attention like you used to do.
Time is probably the best advice. When I got our second dog, my old girl was bummed. She didn't want to eat, she was kind of aloof and wasn't too thrilled with his antics. I made sure she was getting the same amount of attention and I fed her a lot of really good stuff to get her to eat. After about a month, she was cool again.
