Hello! That sounds like a question from a fellow sheepie owner -- are you? Do tell!

I don't feed supplements but then my dogs probably weren't the ones you were talking about. 8O Are you feeding your dog a high quality diet? I have seen many people recommend "The Missing Link."
Our girl is a year old rescue O.E.S . I've been feeding Iams, some eggs, occasional brown rice, small amounts of brewer's yeast.
Maudie is not a show dog, just a family pet. We just want her coat to be as healthy as it can be!
Welcome to the forum!

Join us so you can post pics of YOUR beautiful OES Maudie, too!!!

Registration is free, easy and we don't usually bite or growl.
Thanks! I will!
Yay! Pictures please!!

Mine are both rescue dogs that serve solely as pets. I adopted Maggie at 1 year old and Chumley when she was 8.5.

Sounds like you are feeding an excellent diet and I bet Maudie's coat will look wonderful soon.
My first OES was Maudie! She was the smartest and sweetest ever.
Welcome!
Me too, my first was a Maudie! She was my camping, hiking, canoe buddy.
I love the name Maudie. When I was a kid, there was someone we called "Great Aunt Maudie" who used to come visit and paint oil paintings. I have no idea if she was an actual relative but she was definitely a character.
Welcome to the forum Maudie's Mom! :D

Lots of choices on supplements out there-we are
giving Bogart~~ Dream Coat (By Halo Pet products).
I'm really pleased with the results, we shaved him in March and
his coat is thick and about 4 inches right now.

Hope you join the forum, would love to see pictures of Maudie!
I think there are mixed opinions about feeding your dogs Brewer's yeast. I think people did this to prevent fleas but I do think that the yeast can cause some skin ailments.

All of the items below you can buy as human grade in your local drug store. Just dose according to weight.

I would recommend using some Omega 3 oil supplement like Cod Liver good for coat & joints.

Since OES do tend to have sensitive stomachs you may want to consider a pro-biotic.

As your OES ages, Glucosimine/Chondroitan supplement to help with any arthritis issues that may occur. We just starting giving our seven year old.
I use fish oil caps for the omega-3 for all the dogs, and also glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM for Chewie and Simon. Chewie because he is an active and growing large breed boy, Simon because he is a basset who is 8 yrs old still competing in rally obedience.
Thanks for the great advice! I will join & add pictures. It might be Aug. until I get to it!!
We had a litter of O.E.S in the late 60's, when I was a little girl. I remember that mu sister& I named the females Daphne& Maude!
We FINALLY PUT MAUDIE"S PICTURE ON HERE!! I said it would be Aug. before I got it done!
She looks like a cute shaggy girl! :)
Thanks! We love her to pieces!
Nice tongue!
