Florida OES Club - activity?

I joined (sent money) to the Florida OES club a while ago and haven't heard much from the club other than a few old newsletters and a few emails. I wasn't sure what to expect but was hoping for opportunities to meet other OES owners and am disappointed. Perhaps there are not many OESs in FL due to the heat but I'd love for my Saffron to meet another sheepie. Anyone have any insight on this group? I did offer to volunteer when I signed up.

hi i live on the other coast cocoa wish i lived closer.. are you talking about dixie rescue? i wanted to help out too .. not heard too much either
I wish you lived closer. We have a beautiful dog beach here and a new dog park... but we never see any sheepies. The club that I was referring to is this one: http://gbwebs.com/oesccf/home.htm . Maybe they dissolved the club.
That link will not come up for me.
Try now.
hi i've just moved to florida and now that we are a bit more settled i would love to meet up with other sheepie owners

its a bit of a trek to you but if it was organised well i'm sure i could get my hubby to drive hes has as much of a soft spot for the sheepies as i do

that and i'm desperate to take einy to a dog park

i did go to the florida sheepy picnic november 2005 but have not seen any more about it here

there are quite a few owners in florida may be some where more central so we all travel about the same distance

zoe and einy
A friend with a sheepdog just moved to Nokomis......which is close to Bontia Springs, but Auburndale is a bit far (too bad because she lived in Lincolnshire for a few years). If you want to contact her, send me a PM (private message)
i know the rescues of the group worden really does not do sheepys anymore in boca .. paul i think on the west coast still does.. wish i lved closer too .
If there is anything going on in Jacksonville or somewhere around Jax, please post it or let me know.

if anyoner is coming down 95 in the cocoa ( central east coast)area get with me i have 4 acers fenced in my gilrs and boy always love company
Which Florida club did you join? There is Dixie OES Rescue, the Old English Sheepdog Club of Central Florida, and others . . .

It seems like whenever I would have a chance weekend to get together with other sheepies I'm planning to go to a show.

There are several of us in the area now so if anyone feels like coordinating something it could be fun! Unfortunately, I don't have a yard big enough to accommodate or I'd volunteer!
What is the difference between the clubs to join? Is it better to join one that is more local? If so, which is closest to Jax?
Aurelie, sorry that you don't here anything, the problem is that we need a new secretary, and a few new people to join the board so we can start planning fun things again, anybody in Florida volunteering???
